informer365 - In the near future VINO will provide the market with some financial information on how it is trading. At that point private investors will know what we have here and we will have some sort of metric to value the shares. As of now the institutional shareholders who bought into the flotation will know a lot more than anyone else. Given the strange world we have lived in for the last year or so I would be surprised if an online wine supplier like VINO has not traded well. In fact they could not have had a successful flotation on the stock market (it was heavily oversubscribed) if they had not been trading well.

I tend to seek out newly floated companies as they tend to be undervalued. I hasten to add that there are occasions when that is not the case and I am not ramping! Good luck!

And adjusted EPS is calculated in the same way as basic EPS except that non recurring items are removed from the earnings figure. Things like the sale of an asset etc...

Suark - basic EPS is calculated by taking the earnings figure and dividing it by the number of shares in issue. Fully diluted EPS also takes the earnings figure and divides it by the number of shares in issue but all outstanding share options and warrants added to the shares in issue. So fully diluted EPS effectively assumes all warrants and options are exercised. Hope that makes sense!

shandypants2 - take your point about net asset value. The civil engineering sector tends to be inhabited by companies with poor looking balance sheets (Kier’s is horrible for example, they have mentioned an equity raise but the market will not have forgotten the horror show of their last one!). Ever since the Carillion fiasco there is quite a lot of nervousness about civil engineers carrying debt. GFRD makes a refreshing change in that respect. It is well placed.

Agree with your valuation, but would hope for more longer term.

Davj - purely for accuracy (!) in November he was on this board ramping AstraZeneca when it was £87 (not £80)!!

Yes dividend is disappointing but it is a start.

This is a rare company in this sector - no debt and sitting on a stack of cash. In fact the market cap of the company is more or less equal to the value of the cash it is holding - so the business of the company is valued at close to zero. And this is a company with an order book of £3.3 billion. The stock market does throw up some weird valuations at times!

Galliford Try sold its housebuilding business at the beginning of 2020. That business is now separately listed under the name of Vistry. So comparisons of GFRD's current financial performance with previous years are not meaningful.

Rock - I was shareholder in both the Cable and Wireless companies, both were taken over. One by Vodafone the other by LG as you say. I did ok on both after some interesting times! CWC was always a good dividend payer - great yield even after adjusting the divi downwards. I remember Vodafone getting their advisors (UBS I think) to short the shares of the other CW company to control the price when it was lining up a bid - shameless! It gave me a cynical slant on the stock market , which may not be a bad thing....

Tom, there is nothing wrong with balanced debate. But (under the Tom London user name) you have been posting only on this company's message board continuously for almost 6 months when the share price was 60p. Every single post has been claiming that ITV is overvalued. Despite your persistent negativity during your time on here the share price has risen by approx 90%.

Back in November you also informed us that Astrazenica was going to "surge". It was at £87 at the time - it is now less than £72.

You have announced on here that you sold ITV at 82p in order to buy Shell at £9.40. The briefest of investigation in the share price history of both companies would reveal that was a lie.

The point of all this has nothing to do with balanced debate - it is that you talk utter rubbish, and people call you out on it as is their right.

I haven't posted on this board before. I only bought this last month to have a bit of exposure in the BTC related market. Glad I did....!

The “false ITV recovery” pmsl - check out the share price movements since you started posting on here under the Tom London banner. Investors have made shedloads of money during that time. You are either psychologically damaged by your previous experience with this share or are as thick as mince. On reflection, perhaps, probably both...

From last week's Trading Statement:

"As previously stated, we expect to recommence ordinary dividend payments in 2021, starting with the payment of the 2020 final dividend. We will review the special dividend in 2021 for payment in 2022."

It looks like it.

The Kier directors will be acutely aware of what is currently happening to the ex Carillion directors. In case it has gone unnoticed they are being charged with trading whilst knowingly insolvent. Andrew Davies, of all people, will be tracking that particular story, as he nearly ended up running Carillion. If some of the stuff being peddled on here is to be believed then the Kier board are going down exactly the same path. I regard that as being highly unlikely....

RI = Rights issue?

You can never rule it out in this industry, although GFRD has a lot of cash so not sure it would need one if that is what you mean?

Government is committed to spending big on civil engineering so that is a favourable factor. But if you want to get a better idea on the company you should read the RNS history - no one knows any more than you can learn from those.

The equity raise needs to happen, it is difficult to put a value on the shares until the effects of that are known.

Tom, you sound increasingly desperate. For your sake, I hope you eventually find a way to get some closure on this......

Tom, we are so fortunate to have someone of your standing, massive wealth, great connections and intellect posting on here. It is to your credit that you are prepared to give up so much of your time to steer us through these torrid times.

A very basic punter operates on an extremely unsophisticated level - the aim being to buy shares that are undervalued and not buy those that are overvalued. You seem to have a grasp of some sort of “bigger picture”. Are you prepared to give us some insight into your recent calls? A couple of random examples:

- Don’t buy ITV in the 60 -65p range as 50p will follow. And there is no chance of £1 this year (this was your advice in late September).

- AstraZeneca will surge from £87 (this was your advice just over a month ago).

It would be very good if you could give us some sort of insight into the thought process of a man with your depth of knowledge and experience. I do think we would all fully understand if you want to keep your unique skills to yourself - after all you clearly have a rare gift.
