Just a guess and God Knows where we will be next week. Personally I will be blown away if we reach 20p and hold !!!!!!! If we get an good RNS re scally there is no reason why we should not hold around 20p+ then "maybe" a wee fall back up to the next news, I really do not know as this is so unpredictable on good news !!

That made me laugh and your posts are more than welcome no matter how long they are :-)

My advisor is a close friend and also holds many shares in an ISA so he is up to date on things and I do trust him entirely especially with the amount I have invested here and that's a very large sum.

I do intend to reduce my holdings here and sell 25% / 50% within this year but am looking at now 20p/ 25p + that would be life changing for me even at 25% and most definitely 50%. The remaining 50% I will keep until the end no matter what's around the corner, that would be a nest egg for the family.

My posts are about current ISA rules and over the past 5 years for example. Not future rule changes.
If for example we have made a £200k profit so far for the past 3 years 2018/2020 tax years there is no way the HMRC can say next Feb 2021 rules have changed so you owe us tax on the profit made before the 2020/2021 April new tax year. They may well change the rules for further savings investment but they can NOT charge tax on an old savings rule.

Thanks for your post and I have spoken to my financial advisor that I have employed for over 10 years again over this stocks & Shares ISA tax question only late yesterday. He has told me that HMRC can NOT just change the taxation rules overnight or any time in the foreseeable future. ISA has been used and fully advertised ( by the HMRC ) for many years as 100% tax free and IF these rules were to change the HMRC must advise investors that the new rules will apply from a certain date. They can NOT change the rules down stream without disclosing their changes with already agreed saving schemes.
In my case I do not intend to be here for the next 2/3 years so I am not worried about such changes, but I am assured that no such change is in the system now or for the foreseeable future.

Oh and by the way I was jesting about the 2/3 liners :-)))

Thanks for your reply. I would have thought if they tried it on most holders would go balistic and remove their cash. After all the ISA was introduced as an alternative savings and was attractive as it was 100% tax free. I would say they can't change their mind mid stream but could change the tax system for all new accounts, however they could not call it an ISA.

Re tax on ISA. I note you say on ISA's in the future. Yes this may happen, in a few years time but they can not apply anything to current ISA Accounts that were set up as 100% tax free under HMRC own agreement. They may change NEW accounts but they can not touch ours now. Please confirm your feelings on this as it is important to most of us.
