You need to do some research, US is one of the biggest parts of JDs business. UK is less than 30% now I believe.

Just shows JD is a strong business, just stuck with all the background noise from Nike, Tariffs and UK government being fruitcakes.

Market cap of £11 million for this business is truly insane.

LorenzoLynch, Yeah completely agree with what you’ve written there.

Nah I sold out of CARD a while back, such a bargain that share was, I think I was scooping those shares up at 30p/40p ish a share. Card would have to drop a good 20% for me to be interested again. Although great profitable business, I’m surprised they haven’t offered a takeover bid for The Works yet considering that’s trading at a silly valuation. I reckon The Works and Card Factory would go fairly well together.

45% which Pentland don't own - £1.62bn

55% which Pentland do already own - £1.98bn

Pentland must be considering making an offer for this, after 2/3 years this would've paid for itself in profits at a 100% premium to the current share price for the remaining 45%.

The whole UK market has had a knock and there's alot of cheap things, Tbh I can't wait until RR and IAG are back to £1 a share in years to come ;)

90% of the FTSE100 is red today, not even bothered by the noise.

If you don’t know what the Pentland Group is I’d imagine most people don’t realise that JD Sports owns a number of brands which also includes GO Outdoors, Blacks and Millets, to name but a few.

I imagine most of the kids on here think it’s just their local JD Sports shop down the high street.

This brand is HUGE. They are the arguably the biggest retailer of clothing and footwear in the world.

My average is a wonderful and delicious, 98p pal

I’ll continue to top up at these prices, ASOS was always hugely overvalued at its highs on their profits.

ASOS makes pennies in profit, this on the otherhand is a worldwide brand with near £1bn annual profits. It’s grown year on year for 40 years, and it’ll continue to do so with the odd bump in the road.

I love that Next is always cautious with their forecasts. That’s how you surprise the market and outperform, surprise and reward shareholders.
