So, here is the regs again;
New Regulation 54C of the 2019 Regulations now stipulates that:
(1) A person must not directly or indirectly provide, to a person connected with Russia:
accounting services,
advertising services,
architectural services,
auditing services,
business and management consulting services,
engineering services,
IT consultancy and design services, or
public relations services.”
Regulation 21(2) provides that ‘A person connected with Russia’ means:
an individual who is, or an association or combination of individuals who are, ordinarily resident in Russia;
an individual who is, or an association or combination of individuals who are, located in Russia;
a person, other than an individual, who is incorporated or constituted under the law of Russia;
a person, other than an individual, who is domiciled in Russia.
To whom does the prohibition apply?
The prohibitions set out in the 2019 Regulations apply to the UK and to the conduct of all UK legal persons (including companies and accountancy firms), wherever they are based in the world.
In other words, the prohibitions and requirements imposed by the Regulations apply to all companies established in any part of the UK, and also apply to branches of UK companies operating overseas.
As you will see, it applies to all UK companies for a start. DS remains on the management team, his nationality is Russian, I would argue it also applies to him, plus he is one of the biggest shareholders in the company, furthermore, the company operates within Russia and it employs Russians as its work force at the mines.

Del, I've explained before, I still hold a small number of shares, and I'm really not bothered about them. I've also explained that I am angry for the way in which I feel we have been misled by the company on numerous occasions, especially over the Queeld case, as I would have exited in December 2021 if that had been made known to us, but it wasn't, it was blatantly kept from us, just like the sale of MT, which had been rumbling on since March 2015, with absolutely nothing happening. The Board have a lot to answer for here, a lot, and if they had any sense of respect for their shareholders, they would have cut their salaries or even foregone them, as a mark of that respect, especially so when the war was announced, but no, they are just greedy fe++ers and that's all there is to it, and they will continue to sponge off shareholders until the last. Same with the Nomad. What a clown he is, in my view. When this falls, there needs to be a post mortem here. In the meantime, the telegrammers are trying to get the last of their mates out, as you will recall, some were holding a large number of shares, and I suspect they're still trying to
