RE: JD - First Takeover Offer RNS Next Week???9 Feb 2024 21:35
Evolve, your adversarial and somewhat challenging stance from last night, which was very much draining to say the least, has now been tempered by a very eloquent and well constructed and challenging argument put forward by OrangeMoon. So much so, that you have waved the white flag of surrender, as I see it, and although there is no apology for the constant bombardment of me last night, I gracefully accept your well wishes.
Just to make clear my investment to save further argument, I bought in initially at between 15-19p some 10 days or so ago. I then sold the profit I had of 50K towards the back end of last week, not knowing which way this might pan out on opening of this week. However, as this week has progressed, I have re-invested that 50k profit, clearly at a higher sp than before, but I still remain well in profit by some 40k, and I am very much heartened by the signal from JD through L&G that he is indeed accummulating, we assume, of course, to reach that all important 30% holding, whereupon it now looks odds on favourite that he will make a bid in an effort to take the company private.
There are no guarantees with this sort of investing, it's effectively all or nothing, does JD buy out or doesn't he? If he does, those invested will hopefully be a little bit richer than they are today. If he doesn't, the company either remains publicly listed and the sp flounders whilst it attempts to navigate the winds of change, or it goes to the wall, but presently it is by no means a dead donkey, as they will have money coming in as mentioned in the interim results summary. There is, of course, always the prospect that an outsider will swoop in to try and buy the company out on the cheap, but this is what makes this all the more compelling in my view, that JD will not hang about, he needs to get it across the line, and with only 99 million shares in circulation, and he holding a third of those nearly, if he has to pay a bit extra to secure the backing of shareholders and to get the deal done swiftly, so be it, I don't think he will sit there and wait, and risk a competitor taking first mover advantage so to speak. On the other hand, yes, it makes it more thrilling for investors should a bidding war ensue.
It could all fall foul, that is the risk, but that's what we all do, whether we use our brains, or decide to rely on AI in some capacity, we find our own formula through whatever means to satisfy ourselves that the risk is worth taking, but just remember this, AI has to be set up by the human brain in the first place. A human had to devise the programme/algo upon which it will then run! I'm just an old fashioned girl, not a guy by the way, who prefers to draw up a list of pros and cons on paper for myself with a biro!
Thank you OrangeMoon for your kind and also informative input. I hope we will be riding off in to the sunset of the Orange Moon with our swag bags of profit, courtesy of JD and SuperDry under his control again. Nite all.
