Well Drax, this whole thing is based on conjecture and rumour at times. Some on here are adamant to put this company down for whatever reason and at whatever cost. I�m completely with the respected Mayfield on this one and delighted that a substandard bid was not accepted. This is because I have faith in the company going forward. Now, if you wanted to be a glass half full kind of person, you could say that the institutions increased their stakes to block an inferior price being accepted because they know what the company is worth both now and in the future. I for one, i�m Happy to hold and predict brighter days for flybe.

People on here seem to be losing the plot, with a very nasty undercurrent to boot! I see my post from yesterday was deleted, ah well. No more from me until it all comes out in the wash, one way or another. Either way, I�m holding as i am more than confident about Flybe�s future. T

Rumours,,, as I say....rumours from my old colleagues in the flybe camp are that a deal has most definitely been finalised to both party�s satisfaction, and will be Announced in due course. I know nothing of the details. However, With over 30 years as an airline pilot details I do know are that it�s a nasty business and stinks of BS!! T

Obviously everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion, but Moniman, what a load of tripe you�re talking. The amount of sells over on Stob,far outweighs the buys, with no correlation as to whether a deal will be finalised or not. How an earth can you compare this company to the late Monarch? You couldn�t get two completely different companies if you tried. Different market, competitors, aircraft and history. Monarch went bust waaaay later than everyone expected because of guess what....COMPETITION!!! And the fact that flyb has a MONOPOLY on the majority of it�s routes puts it in a different ballpark altogether. But as I say, everyone is entitled to their own opinion T

I completely disagree, as i think this will go to the wire in terms of the deadline. What the offer (if any) will be, is anyone�s guess. The fact is, none of us know how things will progress. My own personal opinion is that a deal will be forthcoming, but certainly no where near the price that gino is predicting. I stand by my view that 85p will be on the cards this year/// either way. T

If you check my previous posts you will see that I totally disagree with Sam�s position and am positively bullish on flyb going forward. Well, getting the month wrong doesn�t inspire confidence. As I have said on numerous occasions, i smells a dirty stinking rat!!!

Mmmmm. STOB buying up it�s own shares to be put in treasurey. Something is definitely afoot here. Might be positive news coming re a bid, IF the price is right. I suspect that informal chats re a takeover have been ongoing for a while. Makes you wonder why COW was appointed......she does have precons for being part of takeover bids!!

So re-flection, what makes you think 50p is the magic number? Two years ago, this share was in excess of 90p, and the company is in ridiculously better shape now moving forward. I think Stobarts will need to tread carefully here with respect of timing and price offer. There will part of the flybe old quard who will be reluctant to give in at any cost. I do think they will make a genuine, substantive offer, but 50p is quite a bit on the short side!
