£80m cash means nothing until we get formal figures of debt outstanding on the 14th. Also, this company can’t just bumble along, not with winter approaching, Brexit looming, sterling in tatters and cancellations due to lack of pilots ......this is not good BTFATH1. I did like the idea from someone on here that the reason for COW and Co being quiet regarding this debacle is because a deal is being done behind the scenes. Then again, it might be a case of rabbit caught in the head lights or delusions of grandeur.....I just don’t know. T

I honestly don’t know who would be in the running. And as far as assets go, used q400’s can’t be given away. Flybe’s the biggest operator globally, so that tells you something. I have heard a rumour that loganair/flybmi might be sniffing around. The concept is to secure those lhr slots, so that if Scotland gets independence in the coming years, they will have shuttle connections.....it does make sense. I’m all in, win or lose......with everything crossed. T

Auson, I am one of the few old guard on here who has over £40k invested. I didn’t get sacked, I took redundancy and ploughed it all into company shares as I thought Saad had everyone’s back and would turn shit around. But, he was a complete psychopath who did more damage than good. This airline has been completely mismanaged from its conception and has the potential to become extremely profitable moving forward. The problem is, sooo much damage has been done by successive management individuals and it has done nothing but haemorrhage money for years. Sadly, I think we are now at the last chance saloon and if things aren’t turned around quickly then this airline WILL go under, possibly by the end of the year, there’s no question about it. Case in point is the Belfast City schedule released.....utter crap. They are just flogging the same routes to death, particularly over the winter when aircraft should be grounded to save money. This airline lost a fortune during my ten years there and they will continue to do so judging by their reaction to this drop and how they are going to dig themselves out. Once the joe blogs on the street gets wind of Flybe’s bad press, then all bets are off as people will not book ahead incase the airline folds, and then the downward spiral to knackers yard begins. And I just can’t see stob stepping in now, hope I’m wrong but I can’t see it. All of my good friends still there are very concerned about how this is going to play out. Most of them really want the company to be taken over and be done with it. I couldn’t care if anyone on here believes me or not, but I really hope that things turn around here to the benefit of everyone, but it had better come soon. T

Flyb still have cash reserves of 60m with roughly 50m in assets. However, unlike ezy and ryr who pay and get paid mostly in euros, flybe deals in gbp and pays for a lot of things in usd and eur. This unfortunately has really caught them out this time round otherwise they would have made a modest profit this year. If.....and it’s an if, there is a soft Brexit and gbp rallies, then things will look better IMHO. T

The fact of the matter is that no one knows anything on how this will pan out. This drop, despite being over done, was completely unforeseen. There is no technical analysis, Fib Levels, Elliot Waves, NOTHING that will help. There are probably only a tiny select few in this company that know what is going on and what the future holds and it definitely isn’t anyone on here. T

I agree with what you’re saying ALB1, but I don’t think 30-40p will cut it, so only time will tell. I honestly didn’t see this ridiculous fall in the price coming and part of me really thinks this was manipulated so that a bid could be forthcoming. I just don’t think anything less than 50p will cut the mustard, but hey...............I’m just an ex-employee, what do I know? Ps, just for the record, I think that stob or city would be a breath of fresh air and what is required!!

I disagree ALB1, as I don’t think Flybe’s crusty few at the top will accept anything unless it’s close to the previous offer. This company is in for a rough ride, but I don’t see it going bust anytime in the immediate future. After monarch et all, the last thing the U.K. government needs is for its biggest regional airline to go bust at this juncture. As I said here before, I am an ex-employee with over ten years service given there before moving to the desert. All of my friends really wanted stob to be successful in their last bid as this company needs a new lease of life. At the same time though, Cow is very popular and t&c’s for q400 drivers really have improved (best paid turbo prop pilots in Europe). My own humble opinion for what it’s worth, is a bid in the order of low fifties to be safe, then it’s definitely in the bag. I also believe that there are going to be several other interested parties here, some of whom will be curve balls out of the blue. Needless to say I’m suffering heavy losses here, but I hope for the sake of my friends and former colleagues, that this situation is sorted moving forward. T

Perhaps TB can confirm or deny this, but the figure banded around by those within flybe was around about 58p. If that was on the table now , I still think STOB would have won a watch!! T

This had dropped in excess of 25% over the past couple of weeks to 32p before this morning’s drop. That drop was totally down to Brexit BS. Had that not have happened, and after this morning’s surprise, the price should be around 30 ish. As I say...over cooked!!!!!

This is all an absolute pile of crap. The s##t has been sold out of this share this morning and grossly overdone. I completely agree that this profit warning is indeed a complete surprise to me and most. However, EVERY airline in the UK has been affected by this Brexit BS. EZY and RYR are down well over 30% and TCX...well that’s another story. Half of this nonsense has been caused by political and legal arbitrage, that WILL be resolved to some degree. Several things for people to remember in these very dark days:

1. Flyb has cash in the bank
2. Costs are being reduced
3. 195’s are being gotten rid of
4. It has a monopoly on a lot of routes
5. Over 65% of its routes are domestic, so if the worst of Brexit happens, they still have that to fall back on
6. If oil prices continue to rise, which I doubt, i’d MUCH rather have a fleet of q400’s than 73’s or Airbuses to fill.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m deeply disappointed, but I will not be selling at this juncture as it will rise back into the 30’s again.

I also disagree, this is PRIME TERRITORY for a takeover, and remember, assets are worth 65-75pence.

Food for thought to say the least.
