Ian Gilham the company chairman will pay himself £8000 of our money for every meeting he attends at GDR. He's on £80000 to attend 10 board meetings! making more cash in 4 days than a nurse or a teacher does in a year. IMO he should now be working for free and all the executives should take a 75% salary cut to have this taken seriously. They are expecting us to continue to pay for their lavish life style jobs and aren't paying a penny of their own money into this fundraise to keep the lights on. most arrogant fundraise attempt ever.

Let’s be clear this is a slow speed car crash. The company is a publicly listed company and is unable to raise even a penny from institutions so Peel Hunt had to reach into its own pocket for a million (which it will sell after the fundraise as quickly as it can) and the company is looking to PIs to fund its operations going forward. Unless us boys reach deep, which we won’t, the company will raise 2 months of burn and have no real strategy to raise any more. This is the end of the road and if you think a small fundraise is a strategic choice you’re smoking crack.

In a typically craftily worded RNS the company declines to actually say how much money is coming to them. Presumably the amounts that were announced are for running the actual program so includes nurses and all that sort of stuff and the actual money to Gene Drive is probably 25%of what is said?like 3000 text at £80 = 240k =-2 weeks of keeping the lights on.

I think hoping to time a fundraise with upshot commercial execution that hasn’t happened in 3 years is asking a lot. Even a 50% rise in mcap only puts it at 15m, max you could raise in equity markets is 5m only lasts you another 12 months. The company’s attitude will be that investors just need to put their hands in their pockets and if they don’t want to support it then that’s their problem. Basically the company needs to be making 7m in profit to pay for itself which would mean a revenue of 25m ignoring the scale up costs in manufacturing to get there and I don’t see any whiff of 25m revenue anytime soon

I was beyond correct. In Feb 23 the share price was in the low 20s and a month later, it was mid 40s. Almost a double bagger. But if you didn’t sell when it was opportune you now have shares worth 2p. The company also had a mcap then of 40m which gives options in the finance market unlike now where the mcap is only 25% of that. And the finance markets ar3 terrible now too.

And John please point to any fundraise at this company that was launched at a higher price than the previous.

John the directors buy not because they have confidence but because they want to signal confidence so that investors will put more cash in and they can continue on their 200-300k a year salaries. They consider it an investment but in their jobs not in the company.

They spend 400-500k a month so 3m in the bank in November runs out in early April. No company wants to run their bank balance to zero so if they can do it Im 100% confident they must get a cash raise over the line by mid April at the absolute latest to also give time for a plan b if unsuccessful. and it isn’t going to result in the share price going up.

Amazing, recent posters saying that they bought more shares. The company is soon to run out of money and you have to acknowledge that the only place they’re going get it from is current investors which are all private investors. Global stock markets are in turmoil looking for safe places to park money, which is anything but gdr. I would not be surprised at all to see an attempt announced fundraise in the next 2 to 4 weeks at anything between 0.2 and 0.5p per share.

If anybody here thinks that the company could have a different plan or has a different trajectory, id be interested to hear what your views are of where they’re going to get cash from that doesn’t impact current investors really badly.

The company won't do anything about it. its just a standard phrase required by good governance legislation that aim companies dont have to live up to so nothing will happen

unbelievable that Gilliam still get voted back year after year as he's clearly of no use just shows what little thought anyone puts into these votes and why the company wouldn't bother taking it seriously.

Please give me a reason you would vote for the chairman ian gillham? Been they’re for 12 years and what’s he accomplished?

I remember back in the Budd days there would have been 100 posts here now with ongoing discussion around the points raised in the presentation but now were 15 minutes in and there's nothing. to be fair were 15 minutes in and I haven't heard anything g that wasn't said 3 years ago.

For all those that invested at I’m May at the fundraise in May, we’re 150% up on their money but never sold because they take their investment decisions on the advice of the prominent ill informed posters on this board nicely done.

Gilham buys a million shares because it’s pocket change for him and given that he’s been there since the beginning of time he’s overdue to resign. So he want to send a sign to the market that he has every faith in the business so he buys into it, but he’s soon gone - that will be the next rns he also won’t find anyone to take over for him so it will be Yates the Ned. Once gone Gilham will sell to recover outlay no rns required we’ll never know, screen shot this is what is happening.
