RE: More on todays Telegraph.13 Sep 2020 10:45
The gov website (last updated in june) states it was a trail of optigene. But it's not really about the test it's about proving the use of saliva. As we now know that has proved very successful.
Avacta are mentioned though as has been said:
In addition to the new application of using saliva from Optigene being piloted in Southampton, we are currently exploring the potential of other no-swab saliva-based coronavirus tests with companies, including Chronomics, Avacta, MAP Science and Oxford Nanoimaging (ONI). We are also working with a number of suppliers, including DNA Genotek, International Scientific Supplies Ltd, Isohelix and other leading manufacturers, to develop bespoke saliva collection kits and scale up manufacturing for products that can be used with existing PCR tests.
Sir Al has stated in interviews both the UK and US governments are aware of Avacta.
As was stated in the ELISA test RNS the same Affirmers are used in the LFT. We know they are head and shoulders above any thing else in that area for detecting the virus so it would be very very unlikely that they wouldn't perform in the same way on an LFT.
Im in absolutely no doubt that we will produce the "holy grail" of LFT's. It will be more than game changing, it's world changing!!!
