Linandy1, I don't speak for this board or the BoD. I've just responded to posters who asked me questions (albeit it was probably rhetorical) - I believe that is currently allowed on BBs even under Covid-19 restrictions. I speak for myself only and I explained why I think there may be value here. If you want to speak to FG and ask him those questions why don’t YOU ring him? After all, his number is on every RNS and, with respect, I'm not your gopher…
Oneknows – you ask “am I happy how we are being treated?”. I haven’t taken the BoD’s actions personally as if they are trying to rip me off. I hope they are acting in the interests of the company – settlements and deals is what will pay FG’s bonus, part of FG’s salary is paid in shares, the BoD warrants only kick in a much high level so I trust they want the share price higher as much as I do. If they win, we all win.
There doesn't have to be a falling out. if there were only hardened optimists in a share nobody would sell any shares, if there were only hardened pessimists there wouldn't be any buyers. The whole market is based on both buyer and seller thinking they've each done the right thing and only time will prove either of them "right". I really appreciate posters’ respectful, balanced views on these boards – they are like gold dust…
As I've posted a couple of times before, my experience with this BoD precedes CLP and involved them realising shareholder value in another company against the odds (despite the best efforts of the Russian Mafia to thwart them) so I am putting some trust in a track record - I may, of course, prove to be wrong. CLP could easily go either way, only time will tell. If I felt the BoD wasn’t going to deliver then I would sell up. I’ve met the directors at AGM/EGMs and have seen how they answered “difficult” questions from frustrated shareholders. Some of those holders moved on, some are still here.
But, moaning and hot air doesn’t create shareholder value or contribute to newcomers to the board understanding the company warts and all. The reason I don’t usually post negatively on the stock isn’t that there are no faults with it or the BoD, there are. I simply don’t want to be part of the “Isn’t it awful” brigade where the next person adds their negativity to the last person’s and the view only becomes increasingly negative. Occasionally, when the dominant board mood has gone into Ramp Warp Overdrive Factor 10 I’ve posted cautionary comments for balance (correcting double-counted monies for instance) so that any newcomers see the company accurately, not as a slam dunk buy or a slam dunk sell.
Let's make this constructive. I’ll start another thread where posters can suggest what they would do to create value in CLP. It will be interesting to see what contributions are made to that…
