NCM starts drilling Havieron next month. JORC is a couple of years away, surely. The target is at least 650Mt. Whether it is all mineralised is another thing but it will take a couple of years and GGP has stated that it does not know where the bottom is at Havieron only that it is at least 1200-1400m deep (from surface or 1km from the top of the orebody). I think in the video GH says drilling at both Scallywag & BH starts next month.

Depends whether you are using “proven” in a technical or non-technical sense Tom-vast. Proven normally means close-spaced drilling that can be relied upon to design a mine. Yes, it has been proven that there is mineralisation at Havieron but how much is there, at what grade, what depth etc. Then there’s metallurgy etc that goes into deciding if the orebody is economic.

Good morning Tiburn, my guess is 200,000m of drilling. Last year GGP said the Havieron target was in the order of a billion tonnes. That was down to a depth of 900m and since then the company has said Havieron is 1200-1400m deep depending on whether it is looking at gravity or mag surveys and latest downhole logging has probably increased that even more. So a good comparison for AIM investors is Solgold and the drilling done at Alpala to get to the 2nd MRE.

Okay Morningsun, to be pedantic I should have said " if in fact there is anything at Havieron to mine". I thought that may have been at least implied. I have read all of the NRs going back over the last 9 months several times (I'm not exaggerating) and even tried plotting cross-sections based on the drill holes as I own several million GGP. I think I have done my DD. But despite have a decent "punt" on GGP I still believe there's not enough been proved by drilling to get carried away. Yes, there is POTENTIAL, at Havieron & regionally & I'm there for the LT but there's a long road - 4 years? - ahead.

Holy gold Batman! 500koz prodn pa! What sort of mushrooms did you have for breakfast? GGP doesn't even have a resource yet let alone proven reserves that can be mined. One small step at a time.Or, because of NCM, one giant exploration step at a time, but it's still EXPLORATION! Yes, capex is greatly diminished, yes, time to production is massively shortened, but the company has got to find something to mine first. Havieron STARTS at 400m depth. Everyone, take a cold shower because this is likely to take all of 2019 to prove up if in fact there is anything at Havieron. I actually think a focus on Saddle Reefs (Black Hills), Scallywag and the other regional targets may do as much for the SP in the short term as results from Havieron.

Hi JerseyCrew, if Havieron becomes a mine and NCM uses block cave mining then mining starts from the bottom of the orebody. ATM GGP thinks it is at least 1.4km deep! So in order to get ore to Telfer in 4 years time there has to be a LOT of work done. I guess it's up to NCM how quickly things move since it knows the timelines better than anyone else. Looks like a shedload of money is going to thrown at Havieron in the next couple of years!

Timid has a little smile on her face and polishing her crystal ball. :-) I hope the info on Telfer running out of ore in 2023 caused at least one person to buy although, unhappily, the SP is only back to 2.30p. But see the posts below on Saddle Reefs & Scallywag. There's more to GGP than Havieron.

from CEO.CA At SADDLE REEFS, the mineralised sequence outcrops through a thin veneer of sand and gravel. Rock chip samples were collected over a strike length of approximately 800m with results over 10g/t including 81.7g/t, 45.7g/t, 37.6g/t, 33.9g/t, 28.2g/t and 23.5g/t. Many also showed high silver above 10g/t up to a maximum of 106.1g/t. Gold (and silver) mineralisation in bedrock has been identified over a strike length of approximately 800m at Saddle Reefs.
A comprehensive IP program over Saddle Reefs was designed and implemented in conjunction with external consultants, and undertaken during Q3 2018 (as announced 17 July 2018). Total strike length covered was 1,600m. Transmitter and receiver lines were 100m apart and station spacing along lines was 20-40m. Thorough independent QA/QC of collected IP information was carried out and it was concluded the data is of high quality.
Modern 3D inversion models of resultant IP data were generated. These models have outlined a large, coherent conductive body over 1,000m of strike spatially co-incident with gold mineralisation identified at surface. The body lies subparallel to the strike of gold mineralisation identified at surface and has dimensions of approximately 1,000m long, 200m wide and 150m thick. (100 MILLION TONNE orebody.) The body plunges gently south-east mirroring the overall structural plunge of the outcropping geology and is open to the south-east. Depth to top of the body ranges from 150m to 200m below surface. The majority of historical drill holes at the Saddle Reef prospect were to maximum depths of only 50m.

from CEO.CA The SCALLYWAG TARGET lies approximately 6km west of the Havieron prospect within the Havieron licence. The Scallywag target, as defined by detailed aeromagnetics (50m line spacing) and ground gravity (400m x 200m) covers an area of approximately 6km x 3km. Interpretation of aeromagneticand gravity data shows a large scale folded and faulted sequence of prospective Proterozoic basement rocks under some 50m of recent cover. MMI sampling over the Scallywag target was completed in late Q3 2018 at a sample spacing of 400m x 200m; results have been returned and are reported here.MMI results from Scallywag display discrete elevated gold, copper, silver and arsenic MMI responses along the western parts of the target area over a strike length of some 6km. Supporting pathfinder elements of cerium, lanthanum, iron, lead and uranium are also coincident along this trend with several clusters of samples displaying a strong multi element response. Highest results returned from MMI sampling were 8ppb silver, 50ppb arsenic, 0.4ppb gold, 480ppb cerium, 2750ppb copper, 33ppm iron, 280ppb lanthanum, 240ppb lead and 335ppb uranium. Response of certain groupings (or suites) of elements over parts of the Scallywag target are similar to those seen in MMI and drill core from the Havieron prospect.

Does anyone know where Scallywag & Saddle Reefs fit in to this announcement? Are they part of the Haieron E45/4701 or the option ground - the Black Hills (E45/4512) and Paterson Range East (E45/4928) licences? Does anyone know if GGP intends to drill either of these soon?

Telfer - 40km from Havieron - runs out of ore in 2023. If there is gold & copper at Havieron Newcrest will want it.
