RE: Paddy28 Nov 2020 08:36
@@@Simon, - The retention of mits under the Paddybum is not intended as a signal to sell or otherwise.
It is a suggestion that there is a lot more good news on the way which is likely to UP the SP. When that news hits the fan and the price rises, YOU the investor make the decision to sell for whatever reason you choose.
If its in the kids ISA , then leave it alone.
If its to take your 98 year old mother in law on a cruise, then sell.
If it is to pay off the dreaded mortgage,- then do some calculations. It could be more profitable to retain the mortgage if the SP is going to create growing profits that exceed mortgage costs.
If the news is that Scallywag, Paterson East, Black Hills, Bromus ,Parlay etc are all looking like Havieron X 2 , X 4 , X6 , - then hang on in.
If Barrick and Rio come sniffing around, then hang on in.
If you need the cash - then sell.
If you want to move from the cardboard box outside Boots into the Surrey suburbs then sell.
EVERYONE has a host of different reasons and ambitions and life occurrences that they have to decide for themselves.
If you are an investor in a tiddly little AIM gold exploration company where 19 out of 20 fail, then you should be old enough and wise enough to make your own decisions.
OR go and see a financial adviser and he will tell you to spread your money across Rolls Royce, Debenhams , LLoyds Bank, etc,............... and you will probably make a 3% annual gain if you are lucky
But do not ask 1000 LSE posters , ( even the revered and renowned ones ) as you will get a 1000 different answers.
There is no charge for this advice.
