Went long on the ftse 100 yesterday from 6930 as I am bullish in the relative short term, although there is certainly fear and uncertainty around I think it has been overdone and the markets will recover to an extent.
My beliefs:
US will not raise interest rates at the level and pace expected
Italy will back down to an extent
The fear in the market is very high on the scale, historically markets have generally fallen most when the market is not expecting it
Trump & China due to meet end Nov, who knows the outcome but the market will be hopeful imo
Brexit remains a big concern and I believe May could be overthrown beforehand, which could mean a hard Brexit which would probably be good for the US dominated Ftse 100 anyway
Nonetheless I do see a bear market coming eventually, but not this year imo, Euro or China slowdown could be the catalyst
So far so good but stops in nonetheless, would definitely be looking to short if the ftse gets to say 7500 (could take a while)
Let's see how wrong I am :)
