jiffy re: your comment ay 09:53, sure lots of traders are ethical (not saying all are!). They are not profiting at someone else's expense, they are purchasing shares at a SP that someone else is wanting to sell at (LTH's do the same although not with the same interest in shorter term swings).
Popped up in one of the websites browse during lunch hour for North Sea news... nothing new but always good to see profile getting a wee boost!
Apologies if already posted!

streapadair, thanks for sharing that. Don't agree with number of the points the writer raises (I do agree with other points) but at least some sustance to why he takes a contrarian position. However, as with everything positive and negative don't take at face value and add to the understanding of your investment (or potential investment). Same can be said for the Next Oil Rush article also.....
Bridgedogg1 - 6 month wait maybe to do with fact that drilling in winter 2019/2020?? Assuming both parties been negotiating strongly in the best interests of their respective companies - no point making a deal in March when could have another 6 months haggling??? Deal needs done now so have now got to point where both parties accepting the terms and now onto preparing for campaign ahead..
crumble, apologies maybe missed the point (to be fair I didn't read the full thread as thoroughly as I should have) but the level of responses on the back of this is daft.
Will leave Jiddy to clarify exactly when purchased if he/she feels the need to respond but in bigger scheme of things is it of any consequence? Jiddy has always made position abundantly clear and whether bought in March 2015, December 2016 or March 2019 is of no real importance to me. I (believe I) know what their position is but don't care no. of shares, average etc is.
However appreciate that getting that wrong lets holes in the postings in order to have a pop.
FILTERED (not really, just always wanted to say that!)
Sure crumble et al know this but price was below 0.5p for significant period. Money raise was made at 0.47p in Nov/Dec 2015 and SP dropped below this for a period between Dec 15 and Jan/Feb 16 before news started to flow. If recall it did drop to around 0.3p and even below in this period. All above from memory so don't string me up if values/dates are slightly out.
Believe just having a free pop at Jiddy just now and none of the regulars around to correct so hopefully above clarifies some of it!
Whether Conoco sniffing about can we take Twitter posts for what they are! This is what he is hoping for rather than what is happening. He even says only half true!!!!! Obviously had a meeting with Conoco which lots of people will have in varying locations (including the UK) but the 2nd half of the tweet I suggest is his wishful thinking (which in fairness he says)
Not sure if link will post. It if you google “ASX trading halt” you should get the guidance. See section 3.3 of following link. Check section 3.3 which gives guidance as to when to request a halt;

Depends on the nature of the ANN but no doesn’t go into suspension before every one. Don’t know the exact rules but tend to suspend when news incoming that they think will significantly impact on the SP (+ve or -ve)
Sometimes a damp squib though and have been over cautious with the suspension!
C99, unsure if link will work but here goes;

Picardy, appreciate your view but as far as the ultimate end game for 88e we do not know it was a disaster.
PB and DW will have many an hour discussing varying scenarios, plotting different plans, contingencies, what-ifs etc etc and will be others both within Burgundy and 88e who will have been part of this process. Particularly with the nature of PB's death I am sure his analysis of current situation and possible outcomes were well discussed in advance. Yup, no longer around to react and analyse going forward but personally don't see this as being the making or breaking of the company at this stage (if I had I would have sold up in April last year!)
It may well turn out that was a turning point for 88e's fortunes and if this is the case it could turn out in hindsight to be a disaster. However progress in oil exploration (conventional and unconventional) is never going to stop due to the passing of one individual (no matter how influential he may have been) and if there is a way to make this succeed I am sure it will be found.....
A set-back yes, a challenge yes, a blow to the company yes, a disaster? At this point no....
