Phron, get the logic but the $70/b x 5 bb doesn't give full picture. Once you remove the costs of extraction the US$ 350 billion would be significantly lower. Sure the estimated lifting costs will be around on this board somewhere but not as straightforward as someone paying us $10 billion to turn it into $350 billion (I know you will be fully aware of this!)
Been through the ups and downs on 88e since 2015 traded a small amount here and there (sometimes successfully, other times not so!). Held the vast majority through the rises from 0.47p share issue all the way up to 4p and back down again (& then back up- to 3.xp and back down again etc etc, you get the gist) but have taken 2 slices this week, 2nd one at 2.46p this morning. Have now banked some profit and got a decent free ride :-)
If only I knew then what I knew now (although to be fair if had banked profit back then would probably have p1ssed it all away on CTAG or similar!)
GLA - hopefully exciting times ahead for all whatever your strategy...
ps. Reserve the right to go back to "all-in" if there are any dips ha ha
Get your calculator out pal! Short answer you would have 2.8k approx at whatever the current SP is - the 0.49 when you bought is exactly that, the SP when you bought. Suggest you spend some time getting your head around this before sticking your hard-earned in!
Claza, you get an ISA allowance each year - you don't have to withdraw any old ones to use this year's allowance - if the one you are talking about was started in this tax year then that's different discussion.
Suggest you research and take some appropriate advice rather than asking on here!!!
Do we actually think he is going to say anything on this tomorrow? Anything price sensitive will be through ANN/RNS, this not be the usual formality of passing motions based on votes cast before the results were announced?
WIll be a set agenda and doubt will stray too much from it - I would be dissapointed if no mention but that's not what tomorrow is about so may end up dissapointed.
Moneyhawk, totally agree with you and gives a little bit of uncertainty as to how bad it was - they were certainly never going to come out and say that it was great result and going to walk away!
Don't want to sugarcoat it too much as it is way off what anyone was hoping for or indeed expecting. Have had too many of the 50/50s go against us, hoping we win a few of these coin tosses now but hoping probably not what should be doing with an investment!
That one hurt last night, whatever way you look at it was a kick in the stones however not selling at this level - be interesting to know if PMO would have proceeded any further after this result if environment was same as this time last year (although know we won't get an answer to that!). Possibly not but $33 oil and the current challlenges most operators have on their Capex would suggest that would have taken a nailed on success on this well for PMO to plough anything else in.
Story not over by a long shot & the main positive is we know a lot more about what we are working with than we did 12 months ago and at no real cost to ourselves but a long path ahead, creaming the curve seems a long way off. Hoping that can still be done but totally different curve to what we were hoping for 3-4 years back and each set-back we encounters flattens it that wee bit more.
Good luck all, for those that do move on wish you all the best, for those waiting for AGM, HRZ results etc, let's hope get thrown a bone or two in the next few months. At moment would take some jam tomorrow if at least to lift the current mood slightly...
bynari, yup not daft but to be honest filter them out as well as the 10p be end of month crowd (by filter, not literally just ignore it although do appreciate time Jiddy and others take to call them out! Been here long enough not to get too up nor down about any of it)
Apologies Jiddy, video conferenceing getting in the way of chat! Agree with your 10:30 post totally - all about the timing, doesn't make you or traders unethical! When you buy your shares could be from someone else who has hit their target and happy to take their profit and move money elsewhere. You aren't necessarily taking advantage of them!
Whose expense are they profiting at? You are profiting also at the expense of someone by that logic. I do get that there are a lot of "traders" of AIM shares that deramp on here but
1. they don't make any difference to the SP
2. aren't representative of all traders!
