Lots of anticipation for Thursday update. We have all had our fair share of schit and schitter. Someone once suggested that schit happens and a Tanker could steamroll Kraken at the blink of an eye. Reported from: Magnus oil rig northern north sea (132.3 km SW of epicenter) [Map] / Strong shaking (MMI VI) : "I was working nightshift on the Magnus drilling platform situated in the North Sea when we felt the rig shake quite violently for about 5-10 seconds. Unsure what it was at the time as the weather was quite mild and sea state was relatively calm."

I'm an optimist at heart, sometimes if you give it a good kicking it starts working better than before.

So "Energy Security" have become recent media buzzwords. Relevance and necessity of UKCS resources has also become more accceptable at many levels. Pub conversation with oil related friends this evening says not much conventional left in UKCS except West of Shetland and then there is also previously unexploited Heavy Oil elsewhere. Who has access to a bunch of heavy oil? Thoughts . . ..

Making an assumption that Malaysia is 5% gas then throw that in with OGA and as a percentage of total production gas is around 6.5%. Take away flared gas and fuel gas.

Where sales figures are reported they currently include a portion of purchased gas which has a cost of sale associated with it that IR have recently suggested therefore makes little profit.

I also keep an eye on the VLSFO price. It is bizarre where these numbers, VLSFO/Brent, are compared to one or two years ago. There has to be a point soon where GKA Grouse producing 2 boepd becomes profitable!!

Which leads me to my question. The +$1000 VLSFO is currently further afield with Rotterdam usually trailing a bit behind. We currently often send Kreamy Kraken to Singers. The North Sea is becoming more necessary and therefore acceptable at Government level. Is there a point, due to internal need, where UK production has to be sold to UK by order?. Any precedent?

Not sure if that is far fetched or not hence the question.

I have a similar calculation and per barrel the potential premium using same ship and bunker info is currently about $9.27 premium compared to Rotterdam price where transportation etc is negligible. All good anyways , , ,

It is all pushing forward at a pace. I think the Ukraine reference is to do with solidarity rather than a strategic option. Thanks for input. 44,000 boEpd bottom of 2022 range. You've also nicked another $100million by being cautious. That's all fine by me, and it is fag packet backed up by whatever wherewithal you have, and I am sure that is plenty more than mine.

Just like to check however what you know about December 22. If we are only having 350 days this year do you know something we don't? Should I cancel Xmas plans? Not the final pandemic is it? If it's aliens and the end of mankind then I have good access to an escape rocket for highest bidders.

Just raising morale in these frikkin testing times.

The OGA November figures are in (I nudged them) and Magnus was worse in November than October . . . which means according to my numbers that it must have performed at a 12 month peak in December. Which is a tiny piece of good news on the sisyphean turd coated treadmill of enquestrian belief.

Most know I am a stickler for sensitivity and a stalwart for diplomacy. I stumbled on it a while ago but I think it is heads below the parapet at present I don't think there will be anything extraordinary in the update unless it is EP or another field interest. Figures will be downplayed and left for us to fill in the gaps (as ever). It is frustrating but I think I have my head around it at present , the intrigue and uncertainty will prevail for a purpose.
