MrTud, the merger has not happened yet, it has just been announced.
DC has talked about big valuations, but the merger has not happened yet.
The DFS has not been produced yet, so funding does not have a firm basis upon which to be computed.

There is nothing weird about this, there is just an indication of what the company is doing and what it expect to happen in broad lines, the rest is execution and our fantasies because we are incapable of waiting.

Am I the only one here comfortable in his own ignorance about what is going to happen at SOLG?
We keep debating, yet no one thought about the merger after it failed the first time, and then that's exactly what happened, with a couple of interesting twists.
Just chill, we have no way of knowing how this story will pa out exactly, and some of you seem to have too much time to kill ad decided to spend it on this BB.

I am as excited as anyone of you, and I have been long invested in SOLG, having also traded up and down aince 2014 making xonsiderable profit.
While I alao share the view that we might finally be on the verge of the long waited rerating, let's also keep our feet firmly on the ground.
DC saying we are worth north of 78p based on the resource means nothing, we have been discussing this very topic a million times and in fact I have 82.5p as a theoratical value at the feasibility stage in my model, which I was discussing last week. But nothing has changed, if there is no actual corporate event there ia no rerating, and 7ntil then the price will reflect a company short on cash.

One thing seems clear from DC's comments, BHP and NCM are NOT getting any new shares UNLESS they go to the open market to buy them. So there is no agreement with them and we can expect more hostilities from them.

I am glad so many of you have a clear opinion about the value of the proposed merger since I still don't, one way or the other.
Now I might be a bit dense this morning, but some points are not clear to me, so...
Questions for the BB:
1) is it certain that the 15 SOLG shares have to be new issues? Apologies if it's a dumb question
2) is it certain that the entire amount would be in new issues? The RNS says "20% of the consideration could be paid in cash", not the entire amount and "Solgold may elect...". So Solgold may elect not to?!
3) If we need to issue new shares, aren't we back to the initial point about dilution? And if we could raise funds, why didn't we earlier? We will now have a higher cost base and higher funding requirements.

Red, thank you for putting so much thought into this entire scenario. It's fascinating and one cannot say that it is not possible, however it would be extremely complex and lengthy to orchestrate, it assumes that NCM is just sitting there waiting to be bought by BHP, and in a time frame where SOLG still need to resolve the lack of funds. So IMHO the mechanics of your suggested plan don't come together in reality as you probably have them pictured in your mind.
Also, we would still need to rely on another bid coming in in from somewhere to trigger the price war that brings us to the £1 you suggest. To date there is no indication that there is another bidder in the wings.

Nonetheless, we can dream!

IMHO no point in discussing the speculative nature of an ECR investment, but if you can afford the potential loss, the price seems to have come to a fairly attractive level, worth a punt.
I have also topped up, two 1.5m tranches, no problem finding the size via HL.

For one thing, the current share price of a company has limited correlation with the economics of a streaming or royalty deal. Being structured products that come in all kinds of styles and relate mostly to the future delivery form a mining company or one that requires the initial development like SOLG, they are more about the project, the resource, the location and related geo-politics, the management team and its ability to deliver.
At least that is my understanding, don't shoot me.

@Fortissimo, I don't know what you smoke but it must be good stuff, I like your thinking and I am increasingly thinking along similar lines.

Well I painfully sold the 140k I bought the other day...I suppose that the next best question given how quickly and badly the market is reacting to the funding comments is: at what level is BHP bidding for an equity issuance?

And, again about the Swiss entity, they have just changed the auditor to PWC, who knows if that's because there is indeed some big financing package to rate and they wanted one of the big companies for that.
