Saga's free float of shares is just short of 100 million which imo, is a major factor towards a Beta value of 2.68, and peeps wonder why the shares are so volatile.

An indication perhaps of how far behind Europe's banking sector is compared to the UK.

Yeah j46, I'm conversant with ATS but they are not 100% imo, I guess it all depends who's doing the programming. With the likes of pension funds, investment banks and hedge funds all competing there's bound to be conflicts.
It's just that peeps here are continuing to blame anyone or anything for the current moribund performance of LBG when I believe it's not Loyds Banking Group per se, it's where we are in this economic cycle.

BTW those so-called city boys are all away atm (well the ones with the clout) it's holiday season, private jets have never been so busy. Ain't nothing to much gonna happen until they return next month, notwithstanding a major incident, it's usually the same every year at this time.

Vardar now valued at £10 million and the only income generated is from BEM with every fund raise, and we still haven't got overall control..... But do we really want it, can we achieve it or will Vardar's directors look elsewhere for funding from now on, issuing more shares in the process?

The north south divide is not the preserve of the UK, it's even more prevalent in Sweden, hence the need for Jokkmokk to reduce their budget. It's been in decline for years. Sweden's steel imports amounted to SEK 31billion versus 46billion exports, June 2021 figures.
Sweden remains #32 in world crude steel producing countries at 4.4 million tons, a figure that has remained largely unchanged for the last 11 years, (overall EU figure nearly 140 million tons).
As for the imports of their metals, currently they have a c15 SEK billion excess, so by that metric, mining is not a national issue, hence my comment, "for most, there's more to worry about than a mine outside of Jokkmokk"

Although the group said they will revert to paying any ordinary dividends half yearly, any longer term decisions regarding return of excess capital, buybacks, special dividends etc, you'll have to wait for Charlie.

Don't know about more skeletons but this so called 'Reading scandal' has been rumbling on for years now.
I've met some, now former business owners, who were on the receiving end and if their story is to be believed they were treated horrendously and rightly deserve compensation. But of course there are two sides to every story.

The aim is to promote the use of hydrogen in shipping to reduce emissions while attracting the investment needed to scale up the business, they said.

scb,The ftse may have been a joke for 20 years or more in your opinion but speaking for myself, overall I've done quite well out of it over that timeframe.
I wouldn't say I'm laughing but certainly smiling, (there's always room for improvement).

Just too easy to blame the UK government for the FTSE's movements when they're negative, factors beyond any government's control usually have the most influential aspects on directions.
BTW, you never see anyone praise the government when there's a rally. It's called frustration and the government are conveniently there.

Some reality.....
Shortly after the 1997 Labour party conference the then prime minister Tony Blair in fulfilment of a manifesto promise, convened a Royal Commission to consider reform of the funding system for the long-term care of older people.

When the Royal Commission reported, in 1999, it recommended that all long-term personal care (including nursing care in nursing homes) should be provided free, funded from general taxation.

Soon after the publication of the Royal Commission's report, a government committee issued a brief report on the long term care of the elderly, in which it endorsed the Royal Commission's position on free, tax-funded personal care and warned "Failure by the Government to act urgently would be a serious dereliction of duty".
Result.
Tony Blair's Government rejected the Royal Commission's proposal for free personal care and funding reform did not appear to feature on the Government's list of priorities.
In the years since the Royal Commission's report, the issue of social care funding reform has not gone away, it's just rambled on and on.

It's so easy and convenient to just blame the current incumbents.
