Wood greater leverage only if debt talks are expedient, successful and the elements of debt re structure acceptable for any bidder.

Market wrong footed as we were on announcement of parallel talks on possible bid and debt restructuring.

Debt restructuring will add time to any conclusion. Maybe an extension of talks coming.

Captain could Shell through us all a curve ball with a bid.

Shell have negotiated many contracts with WG.Some maybe ongoing.I have seen supposed experts saying Shell and WG not a good fit synigically,what ever that signifies.

Probably you are right with your thesis Rock.I would be surprised if there are no new hats in the ring with the sp level at mo.

WG have had bids before.A new 'bidder' would move things along.

Maybe part of debt restructure talks.Is Sidara paying debt off for WG for return of shares allotment from a previous debt share agreement.

Might be further evidence of a merger rather than full cash takeover.

Full cash offer it might well ,but is rule 9 of take over rules a hinder to the price per share Sidara has to stump for a full buyout of WG stock.

Google rule 9 of company takeover rules . Give me any interpretations of what it means for any settlement.

Injecting cash into WG for a controlling stake is a winner at sp level fight now.

A merger seems more advantageous with less risk for Sidara. Especially if takeover rule 9 applies here.

My decision would be a cheap sp cash injection merger.

Thanks for reply Captain. Is it possible that Sidara are part of refinancing negotiations . Is maybe that Sidara are offering WG a cash injection to aid WG debt repayments for a controlling stake of WG. Could said negotiation suggest maybe a merger might be the result rather than a full cash buyout.

What are anyones interpretation of take over rules implying what any affect on a sp amount Sidara have to bid.Namely rule number 9 of takeover rules.

My instinct is that Sidara are awaiting results of how any refinancing package looks like.if refinancing negotiations fail it will be a disaster for Wg.

Anyone have a view that rule 9 of takeover rules might have an affect on a Sidara sp bid as a bidder might have to bid at highest price paid for any WG stock they have bought up over 12 months prior.

Any info of Wood stock accumulated by Sidara. Is there any possibility of rule 9 kicking in and affecting any bid price.

Although these rules are not etched in stone and can be waived technically.
