whilst not wishing to interject any negative note into the board as i am very positive on vrs one question which puzzles me is this. if we ultimately own a majority stake in the spanish entity how does this benefit in terms of it being a customer for nanene?i realise we are hopefully looking at potential for wider development of our product use but not entirely sure the this deal is going to add anything to the bottom line in the near term.i realise this may not be the point or intention at this stage and that there is a much broader picture in mind as the ultimate aim but if anyone with a better undesrtanding of the mechanics/economics of the proposal can explain it to me i would be grateful. the rns does seem to present one of its positives as a customer for the supply of nannie.aplogies if i have misunderstood matters or am being a bit simple in my analysis

agree with all you say trek (no comment on optibiotic as i know nothing about the company at all) very interesting to read the posts on advfn as there are a great many of them and display a wide variety of views but have now become almost entirely supportive of the PB offer.i think the podcast will be very supportive of the development although one could hardly expect it to be anything less.i do hope it fleshes out the detail a bit e.g. how much are we actually paying for the stake in the company and what percentage will we get and what is being done with balance funds raised.

bignose have you hit upon the key to our financial salvation?i have no idea how alibabas pharmaceutical division works and it may be a complete non starter but even our moribund s/p would be resuscitated by news of a link in some way to their giant organisation.we can live in hope. roll on hong kong!

agreed in principle but my point is that the wording in the rns is not exactly ripe with detail.i understand that this may simply be a necessary function of the need for commercial confidentiality but by referring to a pilot is seems to allow for legitimate enquiry into what is actually intended.no doubt more will revealed shortly

agreed that the EU aspect is quite a positive ad could prove to be a very smart move but still not clear as to exactly what they are planning

what does the phrase "if successfully concluded vrs will own a majority stake in the company and provide funding for scale up of a pilot plant" actually mean? does this mean only part of the funds raised are being used to buy a stake in the spanish company? if so how much? what is the rest actually being used for? poorly worded and unclear imo, but that said i think in general terms it should be viewed as a positive step.any views as to what people think is actually going to happen would be welcome

clever, although if the hoped for meeting does materialise it will be interesting to see if and to what extent he has been sidelined

i hadn't heard of a gibson cocktail before(the vulgarian in me is more of a negroni aficionado im afraid)but i have just spent a pleasant distracting couple of minutes watching a Distinguished Spirits u tube video about how to make one.i may well have to try some as an antidote to the fortacin induced melancholia which now afflicts me.

i suppose i could try and take some comfort from the possibility that pure lifestyle users may improve the figures although i seem to recall from one or more of your previous posts that again you are fairly sceptical about this . thanks again

alquemie i have largely recovered from the manic hysteria which permeated my previous post and have 2 questions/
1/which other territories apart from the cayman islands have the "Gibson" (sometimes mistakenly referred to as the "Gibbon") as their standard valuation metric?
2/i am not good with numbers.are you really saying that in any realistic scenario there is no possibility of regents revenues from fortacin alone ever achieving a level which could produce a level of profitability such as would sustain the company as a viable proposition?i realise i have posed the question in relatively simple terms and that the complexities of the issues may preclude a simple response but i am trying to get to the nub of what you are saying in terms which i as a non pharma non numerate simple soul can understand.this is genuine question with no criticism of your figures or analysis implied

professorZ i agree very much with your post.i have expressed concerns over the possibility of the company being taken private a few days ago and do not wish to rehearse them suffice it to say that imo what we have always had and what we continue to have is a small aim type pharma set up by a serial entrepreneur very much in control of it.the hk listing makes little difference in my opinion bearing in mind cayman island incorporation and possible soft hk regulatory regime.this has always been the risk of this type of company and i do not blame anyone else for my involvement as a shareholder.yes the bod seems uncommunicative and we have a history of less than perfect follow through on timescales promised developments etc.i do not think this will change unless a/ we are bought out or fortacin is sold off or b/ sales prove so successful that we actually become a company of substance which would require a different type of management with different mindsets and culture.From todays posts this latter possibility seems remote.
i hope the pessimistic estimates of sales potential prove wrong but fear they may be right and are simply a realistic assessment of the potential market which would i suppose explain the lack of stock market enthusiasm. I cannot explain the share price volume and movements on which poms stakebuilder theory was based but feel the passage of times makes this a far less compelling thesis than i previously thought.Will mellon walk ?probably not at least for the time being but his holdings are now down to about £11m (not sure how accurate that estimate is so happy to be corrected by the more knowledgeable)which is still a lot of money but perhaps not so much to the super rich

apologies for the negative tone of this post but whilst i have tried to remain positive i find i now have to accept that i am no longer living in the land of the magic unicorn and fabled money fountain but in a rather more prosaic harsh and unforgiving landscape inhabited by wraith like creatures living in hope of a share price increase which will enable them to spring free from their years of imprisonment with at least some consolation for the long wilderness years. sorry I've got carried away please ignore me its all been too much!

i do not use twitter and have no idea if any weight should be attached to ricketts postings but i gather there are those who put some considerable store by them and for their information he has responded a short while ago to someone tweeting that vrs was vastly overvalued and that he/she was short vrs with the comment "good luck".i can only hope that neil has a well developed sense of irony and that this should be viewed as a positive riposte.

great post ezra not sure how you intended to finish but i get the drift.i do like the idea of posters .even if it is impermissible to name fortacin because of advertising restrictions(don't know if this i the case or not)simply drawing attention to the fact that the problem is recognised and can be addressed would be a huge positive

the tiny uncrossing trade 0f 208 shares at165p is almost certainly going to mean we shall open ostensibly 5/6p down(in the absence of news etc) which I'm afraid may engender further selling.imo only one needs to try and block out short term noise and remember that for the time being we are very much news driven and that news can come at anytime
