interesting day today.sp quite volatile although within relatively narrow channel for small aim company.we seem to have closed flat with very small uncrossing at 28p which is better than i was expecting after the rather negative tone to the day.not really bothered by the daily movements which i do not regard as particularly significant bearing in mind the key developments which we know are coming relatively shortly.incidentally I'm afraid i do not undersstand quietus's post of 16.12 i expect the failure is entirely mine and I'm pretty sure that if i did understand it i would be in complete agreement.certainly i would regard it as pretty fatuous to expect participation in conferences to have any significant impact one way or the other on sp.that is not their point but participation is an integral and pretty essential step on the road to market development in the long term.just my opinion of course.

have to agree with ll you say FTSE12. having sold out shortly before the last update i was expecting a significant recovery following the sell off and have been on the point of buying back in a couple of times but fortunately(luck not judgement) have held off as worried by general market negativity.iwill probably continue to hold off until i sense a change in overall sentiment whenever that may be.

just to clarify i should have indicated that despite its heading my last post is not directed at or in response to any individual posters posts .its just a general observation

we can speculate endlessly on the reasons for the apparent change in the HABP trial situation but whatever conclusions individuals reach at this point will in the absence of any ascribed reason by motif be determined most probably by that individuals already held fundamental assessment of motifs prospect.those of us who feel the company has the potential to achieve considerable commercial success will no doubt largely ascribe either neutral reasons to the apparent change(e.g. simple change of commercial focus) or even beneficial reasons(e.g. need to maintain secrecy about some form of partnership agreement to be announced after FDA approval which will preclude the need for finance by motif or for it to progress the trials on its own initiative).those who have a negative attitude to motif or wish to suggest negativity for personal reasons will ascribe negative reasons to the apparent change (e.g. no prospect of funding without fund raise etc).in the absence therefore of an obvious and undeniable reason i personally propose to ignore the conjecture interesting as it is and concentrate on the factors which have drawn me to motif in the first place which at the moment appear unchanged and as cogent as ever.aimoo

well sheltie i wouldnt argue with anything you say.there are certainly some uncertainties some big some small. as with all shares there are no certainties and most of my best bargains were ones i found some time after they occurred but thats life.what we are really talking about is what do individuals regard as sensible buying in points based upon an assessment of potential and risk.my own view which may well be entirely wrong is that the risk reward ratio has with the recent price falls moved more in favour of reward.time will tell

my modest buy at 28.35 is showing as a sell but its a buy

not sure what ivy and others think but i think its a bargain at this level and so have had a modest top up.just my opinion of course

yes very pleased to have confirmation re USA.its news we were expecting but i think having the confirmation reinforces the sense of building momentum which i personally feel is growing here albeit slowly.this is given further weight by your reference to the further roll-outs due now(thanks for that as i am not very good at keeping track of these),which i agree should have a hopefully significant impact on the s/p

i have had a further more detailed look at this question and if you google "How to access shareholder register" you will find two or three articles explaining the procedure which anyone can adopt to request a list of shareholders from a company.its apparently free for shareholders but the entitlement to a copy of the register is not automatic. the company has a right to assess the purpose behind the request to see if it has to comply or is entitled to reject the request.it sounds a bit complicated but i suppose you could simply write to the company asking for the information at say friday giving the reason for the request and explaining that you are a shareholder etc.if it was me i would probably address the request to the company secretary.sorry but i cannot post the links i have been looking at. IT skills not up to it.

i suspect it is virtually impossible to ascertain the precise number of shareholders in a publicly quoted company at any particular point in time for various reasons.the shareholder register is i assume maintained electronically but whether it is constantly updated in real time or not i do not know and in any event it does not seem possible for those of us without access to more sophisticated trading platforms or information systems to access such information,which is presumably changing with every trade or at least when such trades are recorded in the shareholder register.also and i suppose this is more relevant to your question(i don't imagine the number of shareholders in a company like eqtec changes that much most days as we have very few trades numerically most days) i imagine that most private investors here hold their shares through some platform like hargreaves lansdown or interactive investor as part of isa or sips etc where the underlying shareholder are simply recorded as part of the overall holding held by the platform.i think the best information you are going to get is that kindly provided by JBmcr below which gives the significant shareholders and should be pretty much up to date.this is just my opinion and could be completely wrong so please if anyone has a better idea of matters i would be very happy to hear it

i have e mailed jamie again this morning re us trial start and have had an immediate response.he states that as per their announcement the CRO has started patient recruitment for the us trial during Q4 2018.after the trial has been completed which is to be done within the next year(i.e. 12 months)they will report the results to the market and not before.

i am very pleased to hear that this is the case.not sure how this ties in with the smart patient website statement but i am happy to rely on jamies clear and unambiguous statement as above which i think is very good news.

yes on a serious note i would imagine that we will be very quiet in the absence of news as the political situation remains very unclear and many will want to sit on the sidelines until things become clearer.less that£2500 worth of shares traded today and only 3 trades.if news arrives then of course everything changes

the image of aim oracle eating sushi is not one i wish to linger on but as part of the attempt here to create the worst board on lse i suppose it has some merit

the 120% increase required to get a 55% loss back to breakeven certainly looks in percentage terms quite challenging but if you look at it in terms of market cap it can in may opinion feel a little different.if we get to 0.77HKD a share (120%increase) we would still have a market cap of only £141m approx.this does not seem that demanding for a pharma with a product that has potential to be marketed in so many countries and with what we hope is a significant user base.we have seen widely differing opinions on here as to the potential size of the user base and only time will tell what the ultimate take up is but the point i have made before (it did not find unanimous agreement but i still think it has cogency)is that we are working from a very low market cap so that the increase required to return many share holders to break even or profit is not that great in absolute market cap terms.just my opinion and could be entirely wrong but time will tell.also although i think are getting a slight sense of a shift in emphasis from europe to hk and china as areas of greater potential i am still concerned by the apparent lack of progress with the USA trial.the smart patient website is still showing the trial as not yet open to recruitment so i don't see how it can possibly proceed according to the previously indicated time.scale objectives.i just hope this i not indicative of some serious problem but i fear that funding of some sort may be required which may impact the sp negatively in the short term.

agreed! not directly relevant but from sentiment perspective nasdaq up 1.7%.i am currently not invested as sold on the friday before last update but suspect this may be a suitable re-entry point. no advice just my opinion

i agree absolutely particularly point A.with this type of stock and this sort of m/c you just have to accept that it is going to have these type of s/p movements.look at the volume and actual monetary value of shares traded.nothing significant! aimo

quite possibly but i would expect some sort of rise prior to news as commonly happens and then a significant rise on the news itself .the level of the rise on news will obviously be determined by the nature of the news but i would be perfectly happy with 150p

agreed but ratio of buys to sells today's 134buys and 66 sells so much better than any i can recall recently.
