RE: News This week12 Jan 2019 18:19
close trader my shares in eqtec are held on an HL platform and as soon as the first RNS came out i received a secure message by email from HL advising me of matters and warning that if delisted the shares would no longer be eligible for inclusion in an ISA.i was momentarily disconcerted but quickly realised that this was not an EQTEC specific warning as such but merely a generic notification no doubt issued to discharge regulatory requirements and to absolve HL from any responsibility should a delisting actually occur. If you try and deal in equtec on hl you get a similar warning.i have no doubt that this is just a generic warning which you have to evaluate in the light of the actual circumstances surrounding the need for a new nomad. So far as i am concerned the appointment is as near certain as it can be particularly now following the new loan terms announced yesterday for all the reasons given by other posters.obviously investors must assess matters personally but the fact that you have not had similar notices before is i suggest of no significance and perhaps reflects nothing more than a change in regulations or the individual brokers practice in applying them etc.whilst not strictly relevant i have a holding in a small company on the hong kong exchange and every formal communication regarding it is accompanied by a warning in the direst possible terms exhorting investors to exercise extreme caution etc.i view the hl and similar notifications as an example of the same type of self preservation "safeguarding my back" approach which brokers etc no doubt have to adopt in todays"blame" culture. All this it just my opinion of course
