interesting point of view RBBe.it if were not for the potential loss of IHT relief would you be against a nasdaq listing for any other reasons? genuine question as i am in two minds myself.

yes keith mtfb listed on the nasdaq.it was a disaster. dont draw any parallels though.that was a biotech.dont know what happened when it listed as i invested later.it was a one trick pony and the pony fell at last hurdle and they ran out of cash.melody is i suspect much more suited to a nasdaq listing as its focus seems increasingly us directed.mtfb was a british bio with pretentions.

no. we will own napster but will continues to trade on aim.there has been some suggestion that it may facilitate listing on nasdaq in future, but one needs to look carefully at the listing criteria to determine whether this is the case.

morning mel.beingserious for a moment i agree with your comments.i was particularly pleased tosee that the deal has the potential to increase melody's geographic reach.i recall being quite disappointed when i read the rns a while ago about having to put on hold plans for south america etc(doing this from memory so might not be quite accurate)as i thought that was one of the very few real negatives we have had by way of RNS.hopefully this will do something to address the situation.also i know nothing of the current music scene but i get the imperession that south korea,japan etc are very much fertile and enthusiastic regions for certain types of artist so plenty of scope there as well.also agree re likely board changes.will be interesting to see what TR1s we get next week as there were many more shares issued than are accounted for by Davis and dollens.

tying in to mel's post this is clearly only the start of this next development stage. "proposes to undertake an additional equity fund raise by way of a placing in due course, the proceeds of which will be used principally to integrate and fund the development and working capital of the enlarged group" .agree with 5Orrell that it's a continuation of the process of transferring control from Matchett and han****. where it will ultimately end i don't know, but things seem to be moving along.no participation by gore but he still has the options and we await the terms of the next placing and its participants.

apparently napster provides the BMW music service for european customers.aplogies if this is already known. not saying its particularly important but its quite interesting.

absolutely no idea LF.in theory it ought to be the markets perception of the value of the new /combined enterprise divided by the number of shares in issue etc(allowing for warrants and other sort of things as well) but thats really just restating the obvious and begs the question what is that perception.no doubt we will get endless speculation once the initial shock of the proposal has abated a bit and also i expect numerous examples will be cited of "comparable" events. the problem is that every situation turns on its own facts. so so called comparable won't really help imo,although they will be interesting and will help us pass the time. loads of unknowns.eg us election.will there be a race for the exit if we return at a much higher figure?will there be a similar race if we return at a lower figure? who is init for the long term? i actually think it is an event of such magnitude in the MVR universe that it is quite impossible to predict.im not suggesting huge gains on resuming trading as i don't think that is likely,but reasonable gains are i think very probable .precise figures or even parameters i will leave to other people.first hurdle is to be sure it actually goes ahead.would be very surprised if it doesn't but not totally guaranteed yet.gla

under the details for the placing it states under "proposed participation by director and substantial shareholder" that dollens and Davis capital will be participating.no mention of matchett and han****.we await the details of course but suggests matchett and han****'s position is weakening.not sure if it's significant re gore.

well that makes sense.certainly agree re the cost cutting v growth point.cost cutting short term growth long term imo also.

horse mouth i think it is best to wait for the outcome of the book build before trying to assess further.the revised shareholdings will be interesting. lower %s for matchett and han**** would be my guess but i haven't been able to read everything quietly yet.more US holders power is my take and imo thats a very good thing.but I'm no expert(as pudding will tell you)

maxbda a very good question i don't think we have the full picture here yet by any means.it really is a massive move by mvr and the new shareholdings make up and proportions after the deal may be very telling.

hello mooney.im afraid I'm not the best person to ask about reading material..im just very old and have been in these situations before.they all turn on their individual circumstances, but perhaps others can point you in the direction of source material.we now have the part answer to the finance. tbh i was expecting this but the discount is a bit larger than i would have liked.i don't share the view that it is a disgrace and i think one has to look ahead to what the position will be in 3 months time.i do understand the anger though and i have not really had a chance to consider all the implications yet.

well bignose i did spot the remuneration reduction and have assumed it appliesacrossthe board,but who known.as i said one needs to guard against trying to find hidden messages but i can't recall the use of longevity before although the others were mentioned i believe. tbh i haven't bothered to check carefully as there is no point but just musing and looking for reasons why anyone would invest in this now unless they felt something might be in the background (apart from a bit of trading of course).anyones guess of course.its the "EXCITED" word i can't get over ,although they always say that..must be an astonishingly dull place down at HK HQ!

pension the RNS refers specifically to an adjustment in the event of an s/p decline.it does not mention an uplift but without access to the precise term we cannot be sure.i wouldn't expect the consideration i n numbers of shares to be adjusted down if s/p goes up in practice (possibly some sort of long stop provision in the event of a very significant increase but I'm just guessing)

would agree with that mel.obviously you have to view it as very positive .lot to think about.
