lofas i really hope i have not inadvertently set a negative hare running.i do not expect the deal to fall through. however the fact is that it is not a completed deal until it is actually signed off and the necessary formal processes completed.occasionally such deals do not go through and both parties will have powers and provisions in the provisional documentation now in place which would enable them to withdraw or perhaps renegotiate if circumstances change or conditions precedent in the documentation cannot be met. i do not expect this to happen and i fully expect it all to go through as planned, but we can only be 100% certain once it has actually been completed .i rather wish now that i hadn't voiced this slight concern, as there is nothing we can do but wait to see, so apologies if i have caused any unwelcome worry

LF i entirely agree that we do not know how the future will unfold and what the new combined vehicle will look like in 2/3/5 years time.i probably have a somewhat shorter time perspective than others as i am probably one of the older(oldest?lol)investors here, so I'm just looking at the next 1/2 years tbh. i think the projectory will have become fairly clear within the next two years and my positivity remains undiminished.

LF very interesting article. adds further weight to my view that napster tie in is going to be vital .its going to be a rather nerve wracking next 7 or 8 weeks imo and i shall not rest easy until the deal is actually done. im not suggesting it won't be, but i will be far more relaxed when the the ink is dry on the agreement.

thanks to those posting reviews of toms concert.glad to see that apart from bit of "technical" it went very well.some of the tweets I've seen were extremely positive.the press coverage will be interesting, but my attention is turning now to the next artist. my personal view is that i would like to see at least the next 3 or so acts announced at one go , rather than individually. i know nothing about marketing and am probably completely wrong, but announcing individually seems to create less impact.announcing 3 or 4 at one go would, imo, create a feeling of more substance. also if i was not particularly interested in the next act but very keen on the one after that ,i might well be tempted to buy the first one to try it out with a view to getting the one i really wanted.perhaps it doesn't work like that ,so just a personal thought.of course there may be logistical or planning issues which mean they can only announce on at a time but I'm pretty sure the word "lineup"was used in the initial announcements which to me means more than one.not a major point of course.

just had email from young ai to say the Young.AI web is now live. it looks as though i could take it further but it seems to involve something further with facebook or google and as i don't actually want to download it I'm not doing anything else at the moment.it seems the app is not yet available on mobile phone , but will be shortly. anyway something seems to have happened so hope its working properly.i hope this doesn't all prove a waste of time if deal falls through.

emailed the helpline early this morning to ask about app.no reply as yet.not impressed!

well WHAL one cannot rule anything out, but there has been no market reaction,which you might expect if there was an ominous reason behind it .if its bad news someone tends to know even if its not yet in the general public domain. who knows though. the wording does suggest a precipitous exit,but he is also working out his contract,so hard to judge. his resignation doesn't, i think, automatically create a board vacancy as CIO doesn't have to be on board. could be wrong.

morning bignose.no i don't understand it either. the most obvious reason i suppose would be clearing out dead wood prior to ipo and using regent because he can,but that explanation doesn't sit well with the timing of the series a funding. if it was regarded as unlikely to be beneficial or profitable for the insilco business, why fund it at all. not entirely sure that that is a logical way of looking at but it does seem a bit odd. still can't find the app though.

thoughts anyone on todays rns? i have no knowledge about him.

keith not a dumb question at all. i did wonder whether the japanese deal might be of sufficient substance to require some rejigging of the provisional deal terms.we don't have enough detail to reach any informed conclusions, but my initial feeling was that it was unlikely to be of sufficient substance to warrant any substantive change. i certainly hope not as this proposal does look like a transformational move for melody. there is alway a risk of course that events can produce a change in the detail ,or even derail the proposal completely,but i doubt that is the case (i think rhapsody has decided to pursue its future without napster and that sort of decision is unlikely to change even if the consideration for the deal might need some adjustment).on the name front i always think "powered by napster"is very cogent and i don't envisage the napster brand/name being dropped for one second,athough we may be some variants for certain aspects of the future business. just my opinion of course.

evening keith.well i can hardly disagree that anyone looking at the financials would find them totally demoralising.also the latest move may well just be an attempt to keep the ship afloat while the captain and first mate (or should that be the cabin boy) escape on the lifeboat. in my more optimistic moments i do hope that it may indicate a serious effort to add another string to regent's bow and in particular bring in some additional board members or at least other investors who may be less complacent over continuing failure, but i actually doubt this will prove to be the case. i do agree with bignose that if we can progress the FDA trials and application to a point where we can get a licensee signed up, then that is where our real salvation lies. however, whether we can get there and if so at what cost to current PIs, are questions only time can answer. not encouraged by my efforts to look into the app today, but I'm pretty useless at this internet thingy ,so will try again tomorrow.
