Looks to me like 1 billion of the shares were "re-distributed" for some reason (we should find out?), hence the staggered issuing of shares.

YES! RNS coming this morning methinks.....look at the holdings.......Olivia Edwards has taken more and now has 403 million shares (7%):

Another thing......the volumes and trade sizes we have seen since the General Meeting point to what L200 said which was that (as a placee) he has been able to trade his new shares right away. I don't know how that worked but could be to do with an extended settlement period. If this is so, it could very well be that the overhang is almost gone. All the price action/trades have been that of a stock overhang being cleared.

I am sure all will be revealed soon enough with the prospectus approval RNS. Called my brokers and confirm the total shares issued including the new shares is the number used for shareholding %. GLA

Maybe 1 billion of the shares were only to be issued subject to the prospectus being approved....but surely that would have to be described in the earlier RNSs.

They would have had to RNS someone backing out etc, it was all agreed. Perhaps someone used the wrong total to get the %s of the major shareholders. Olivia Edwards doesn't hit 3% if her shares are of 5,752,423,611. If it is as simple as a clerical error it is just plain emabarrassing, but not for the first time. I emailed them twice AND rand First Sentinal questioning it and it hasn't been changed so I don't know.

As soon as the resolutions were passed at the General Meeting the shares were issued.

There shares have been issued. They are being held. The website confirms it with the update shareholdings.

3% of 4,752,423,611 shares would be 142,572,708 shares but I really don't get why it is 1 billion less. Anyone?
