RE: Blackrock and the Shorts27 Jul 2024 12:33
Yesterday was an interesting day, DEC LSE SP rose to NY close by NY opening, now not dragging NY down so NY not having to play catch up at opening and went up until close, as usual LSE followed until LSE close. Although good news this was on a day when LSE and NY indexes went up a lot however DEC beat the NY indexes, shows what happens when LSE not dragging them down.
I wanted to take advantage of this but my trading pot was already fully invested in DEC. However I sold half my DEC trading pot at small profit just before LSE close, feeling quite lucky as after 2 dubious buys before the fall below £12. Still one buy in small loss at LSE close price but hoping to get out on Monday if SP holds up.
After using my trading pot up on DEC I had a few opportunities to take a small loss as SP was on the way down but did not do this as was reluctant to take the loss even thought it looked like the best option, could have pick up the shares a lot lower. This is a lesson I need to learn (and known it for a time), as is said your first loss is the best loss.
The profits from my trading DEC are very welcome but need a great deal more to break even on my overall DEC loses but every little helps, reluctant to commit more funds to trading in case I mess up as already in a big hole with DEC. Just perhaps with a lot of luck trading and a fare tailwind one day I might break even with DEC, this is against the rest of my portfolio which is in profit and would be a decent profit if not for DEC.
