From earlier was my 4.30am read then forgot to post.
Thanks to Connect Source Pty Ltd and Seeing Machines. Read about our success story on how Lindsay Transport improved driver safety using Guardian by Seeing Machines - https://bit.ly/3cCmfHl
Wasnt too many clues from China. Best i can find...
The finished EV will have a new 360-degree driver assistance system, which Honda says will have “improved recognition, predication and decision-making” skills than its current setup – suggesting this new crossover will offer a higher level of autonomous driving capability than the rest of the company’s line-up. What do you make of the new Honda SUV e:concept? Let us know in the comments section below…
Seems everyone except the blobs getting excited today.....
The coming together of speech & eye tracking is in its infancy. I believe BMW will be the first automaker to combine the two. Cerence Inc. is clearly DMS agnostic & will work with multiple vendors. The automaker will decide, depending on functionality, price & integration with ADAS.
This deck shows SmartEye is a leader in "raw data" gathering, but says nothing about human factors research. Human factors will matter to some automakers & not to others. https://lnkd.in/djwFse3
The technical advance of DMS is now so rapid that "wins" are clearly being delayed & possibly even cancelled. This is highly unsual in automotive, but is to be expected in the familiarization phase of a new technology as automakers rapidly understand what DMS technology can do. Talk of "kings" & "crownings" is premature.
My view is that in an era of #AI & #machinelearning, the company with the largest dataset has the greatest competitive advantage. This is the role of Guardian from Seeing Machines, which is as much an R&D platform & AI training engine as commerical product. Evidently none of this was missed by Qualcomm, that seems to "get" the big picture strategy of Guardian. Exciting times!
In a recent post I referred to the the tectonic plates, the big movers in the auto tech arena setting up for the battle. We are convinced at #seeingmachines that high performance #dms and the bedrock of best in class eye tracking is central to this theme. Software convergence inside and outside the cabin, connectivity and optimum human interface and experience is key. That’s why we lead with our systems approach. Human Factors excellence, real world naturalistic data, world leading imbedding and optical path design, augmenting AI and machine learning. We believe this combination is unique. Follow us closely as the big game unfolds in the transport world. We are here to save lives. Everyone deserves to get home safely. #innovation #purpose #different #teamwork
If it goes to 1p i will get a few of us to put in a offer to buy it. Sell off auto for $500 m, aviation for $20 m & keep Fleet as that’s worth 2p on its own.
Still, it’s unlikely that carmaker OEMs will take remove or reverse technological updates to ****pits. Instead, the more important question is one of expense; how can unit costs of all this new hardware be brought down low enough to not increase car prices substantially? The challenge for automakers—even with shared mobility solutions making up a larger percentage of future auto sales—is how to incorporate the latest and greatest technology without bumping car sticker prices out of the realm of affordability. As always, competition between carmakers will make this an interesting story to follow.
