Honda says will be first to mass produce level 3 autonomous cars.

“Honda is planning to launch sales of a Honda Legend (luxury sedan) equipped with the newly approved automated driving equipment” before the end of March 2021, Honda said in a press release.

If Stifel introduced FH to SEE it opens a few interesting questions!

1. Who’s the big buys from? FH adding or a Stifel 2nd on the list? Or even existing II? Like LO.
2. Who else has Stifel lined up for Paul to wave his magic wand in front of? No note yet.
3. Who will FH talk to? After all made 40% on paper in no time. Everyone likes blagging a success story.
4. Where there’s a buyer a seller to match. Who would it be? PIs or Fund?
5. Will the rest of existing top up? If so when?
6. When will Stifel upgrade their note? Cenkos & Panmure have already so Stifel haven’t. That suggests to me they may have more in the queue before they do. Tactics. No good letting it go 10p b4 your clients have bought in.

To me the timing of a Stifel upgrade could say we’ve got our clients onboard & now news is ready to flow.

Let’s hope more big buyers pile in over the coming months though.

The new architecture will also incorporate a new autonomous technology platform that will eventually offer Level 5 autonomy – wherein the car does not require a driver. BMW showed all three prototype autonomy ‘PAD’ processing units at the 2018 LA motor show, the smallest of which will first appear in 2021 on the production iNext to offer Level 3 autonomy (hands-off and eyes-off) at up to 80mph on motorways.
