As of this writing, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L hasn’t been crash-tested by the NHTSA nor the IIHS. However, we know that this Jeep will be well-appointed with standard and available safety and driver assistance features.
Standard driver assistance technology on every 2021 Grand Cherokee L includes active lane management, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, advanced brake assist, blind-spot monitoring, full-speed collision warning with active braking and pedestrian detection, LaneSense lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, ParkSense rear parking sensors, and a backup camera.
Additional available safety tech on top of that includes front parking sensors, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, an Intersection Collision Assist system, night vision, drowsy driver detection, traffic sign recognition, and an advanced Active Driving Assist system. Active Driving Assist is a semi-autonomous driving system that uses lane-centering and adaptive cruise control to reduce driver fatigue in highway driving. This is a hands-on-wheel, eyes-on-road system that still requires attention from the driver.
Jeep says an advanced hands-free level 2 automated driving system will be available in late 2021 on the 2022 model.
