Assuming LGEN didn't rush tp buy bonds these past 6 months, its holding bond yields will be based upon pre CV19 prices, and if yields are dropping the capital value has increased, so LGEN can happily sell having made quite a few quid.

With your logic, might you not be better off accepting 0.1% yield from the bank?

Level 2 is looking a bit clearer on the upside today.

While I listened to the new CEO give a long interview on Seplat a few days ago .... 50% of Seplats earnings come from Gas while. Most of its assets are Gas plays ... with the longer term aim to move into renewables .... presumably with the £400 million it is still owed.

...anyway Gas prices seem to be on the up ... another 10% today so I’ve topped up some more.

Seems that people ha e more confidence in Nigeria than the UK ...

.... hardly a surprise given the UK these past 5 years.

It’s a market .... anything that gaps up has a strong likelihood of being sold into in these times .... so you could have sold at 303 and bought back at 290 ;)

Natural gas spot price has broken $2 and oil up .... can't keep this down forever.

I was clear at 173 .... bought back £10K yesterday at 163.7 ... 50% of profits these past 3 months I’ve done rather well here.

Not so well on shell though ... back into 150s I’ll buy back more here.

All the more reason just to buy a FTSE 100 tracker and leave .... myself I go for funds that take long short positions to generate extra income ... so even now I’m getting a 4% return with the main holdings that I’m dipping back into the market.

It you can thank Clown Johnson for raising fears about a second wave .... especially given his statements trying to avoid second wave .... like Trump he is a liability .... lockdown has been released so an uptick in cases is inevitable ... he should be reminding public to adhere to advice.

That figure suggests up to 80,000 UK deaths and 400,000 US deaths and seems about right given previous pandemics that have washed through society .. could be more, could be less ....

.. but the unique feature of CV19 compared to Sars, lies with its ability to spread before symptoms appear.

That makes the virus difficult to contain, so with regret it is going to wash through society, and not much we can do about it outside of better medicine to include vaccination.
