My amateur view. If Shanta sell, the sale of West Kenya was purely business. If they hold, they see value in doing so. If they buy, could they even think of having a dart at buying us? The next few months, including lots of news from Shanta, should indeed be better than watching Britain’s Got Talent (not that that would be difficult!)

The original RNS put a 1 month block in place & an ‘orderly market’ restriction for 12 months. I’m interested to see what Barrick do (sell/hold/buy) as it will indicate their thoughts & intentions towards SHG. Interesting times are definitely here imo!

Agreed. Just wondered why the one month lock up and orderly market bit was written into the RNS. Standard stuff, I guess. Anyway, great news and a perfect time to be a holder imo. Here's to a disorderly re-rate! ;)

We should get an idea of Barrick's intentions from tomorrow onwards as the shares are admitted to trading. I know there's a clause mentioned in the RNS to create an orderly market so that they don't all get dumped in one go. Question is, do they offload gradually (as they're already in decent profit) or is the pre-cursor to building a bigger stake? Just musing as I have no flippin idea!

We fell from around 28p to 7p in 3-4 months (ie November 2019 - Feb/March 2020). Much of the fall was pre-Covid and was presumably the result of the bond holders selling down their aquired paper. We've never had the post-Covid bounce that most companies have had and are still sat at sub 8p. A bit of Director buying, strong interims, new customers etc and why can't we bounce back to 28p in the 4 or so months? As ever, time will tell but I'm an optimist by nature!

I read somewhere that morningstar's website had been updated last week to indicate that Shanta interims will be 19/08, ie tomorrow. Shanta's website still just says 'August' so no idea if that information is correct. I suppose we'll find out in the morning!

It was worse for me sparster, I saw the opportunity and did squat about it. At least you've got a good excuse!

PS - Happy to go with consensus opinion of the lth's here as every little helps, ie if you think I should vote against. I did a few weeks ago and I note that the BoD didn't get the approvals they needed/wanted. I'd like to think it was my shares that swung it! :)

I've had notification of an EGM on 24/8/2020 and need to submit to my broker if I vote for/against/abstain. I've got a few residual shares left so nothing of much interest. Does anyone know what the EGM has been called for? Cheers
