Does anyone know when the FI’s can off load their shares ( If they have any, but I suspect they do) do they have to wait until the 7th or can they crack on next week? I don’t know but I suspect it is the former.

And you pal. I am still 2 share Ted, Nex and BT, with a small holding in IAG just to keep an eye on it, I am probably about 25% down since Covid which isn’t that bad I suppose. You are right Pal, it is just ****ing Luck, but when the dust settles IAG and BP will come good and the day will come when once again we can crowd the bar and talk ****e.

@BIgBadDaz: Fortunately I saw the writing on the wall and sold pre RI, I jumped into BP and lost another 10% which could have been a lot worse with Bernard the tree hugger ( What the **** is happening with that share) ? My saving grace was discovering Nex which saved my arse. What are you doing on this BB? BBB jumping into aviation Big Oil

@MrBond: the closing price on the 11th was 194.20p which represents a fall of 53.5% to the SP now. You are correct IAG have well and truely shafted their shareholders.

The MM’s are doing their best to promote this share but the PI’s are not having it. Looking likely to break the 90p resistance and if it doesn’t happen today it will be certainly Monday/Tuesday that it will drop to the RI price. It must be unpleasant knowing that shares will be credited to your account at a higher price than the SP, if that does happen there will be a lot of shares hitting the market on the 7th/8th. The next two weeks will be critical and if there is no vaccine news sub 70p is definitely on the cards. A vaccine statement will come before Christmas the fact that most of us won’t be vaccinated until Easter is not important. When the good news comes it will pop but there are lot of us on the sidelines waiting for our moment and that is not too far away.

@Paddy: Very tempted but topped up here and so glad I did. I am 80% Nex and 20% BT, I will have a dabble with IAG but I will wait until it gets to 75p as the world has just become a whole lot tougher with aviation, forget antibody tests, they need a vaccine! The 7th of October will be an interesting day. What the hell is happening at BP and now RDSP below a tenner!

I would suggest that if anyone is considering topping up that they wait two weeks, on the 7th of October, three billion shares will be made available and I can see many investors who are underwater will want to sell and just get out as they will feel cheated by the whole RI fiasco and start again. I am not a deramper
In fact I still have a minor interest in IAG although I did sell up before the RI. Just my advice providing some balance on the BB.

And there was me considering to sell up at 11:30am to make up a few points to buy back in after the usual afternoon Nex drift, so glad I didn’t.

It has to be said that Sunak hasn’t done a lot for the aviation sector, Furlough has gone and the system
Is now a job support scheme. The employees must work a minimum of a third of their contracted hours, people will not be paid for sitting at home. This will be challenging for airlines to roster their crews to meet the new demands. This will certainly have a bearing on BA’s cost structure. It seems that if a job is not viable, let it go.

The RI is indeed underwritten but the last thing you want is the FI’s sitting on a tranch of shares as they will off-load them as soon as they can. They have creamed IAG on this RI and any loss they incur will be negligible.

I had a small holding in here relative to my portfolio but still substantial and sold out today at a 30% loss. It was always a wild punt which one has to take now and again. Never listen to those fu-ck wits about selling at a loss, when reality appears get out. If anyone thinks that this share is going North anytime soon you must have brains made of sh-ite. I Will

An airline I do rate (Similar to IAG) is Lufthansa. This afternoon they announced further job cuts on top of the 22k they have already declared, taking another 150 planes out of service including all their A380’s and putting them into storage. They have re-evaluated their 4th quarter operations from 50% of normal operations to between 20 and 30%. This from an airline who have received 9 billion from the German government. It is going to be a very difficult Autumn/Winter for all European airlines and I dread to think what the repercussions will be when another 3 billion shares are released to the market in a couple of week’s time. It saddens me to say that I can see this share dropping to 70p in the next couple of weeks.

@Moonman. I am in here at an avg of 124p so have no worries, although I have now 80% of my portfolio in here but this is a strong company and once a new CEO is appointed it will rock. I left IAG underwater at about 15% but if I had stayed I would have had to be committing to an awful lot of share tomorrow with losses rocking towards 50%. I feel sorry for the IAG investors they have been well and truely screwed, still a good punt at sub 100p.

SP finding support at 95p I can’t see this dropping any further, it will rebound on BJ’s confirmation that there will be no national lockdown tomorrow, this has already been priced in. Amazing to think that the closing price on the 11th (Last day before rights) was 194.20P which represents a 51% fall on current sp. Manipulation on a grand scale, but a great entry point for us side watchers.

I am so glad I sold out before the RI the PI’s have been shafted by IAG and the FI’s, the fact that this share is below 100p is incomprehensible and over 25% down on the ex rights opening price. I will be jumping in today, I can’t see this going down anymore and the reaction is way over the top. GLA.

@Paddyboy. I am torn between Nex or Iag: Decisions, decisions. I already have 70% of my portfolio in Nex andI have no concerns about Nex at all but at the moment it is like being in a sweetie job. There will be a positive kick back tomorrow, today is the day.

I sold out 4 weeks ago as I always believed it is better to be out of the RI tent than in. I am committed to take out another position in IAG my only dilemma is, do I wait until next week or in 3 weeks when another 3billion shares come on line? This whole RI scenario has been a massive fu kK up from the beginning. There is a perfect storm approaching IAG and it seems crazy to say it but I feel my entry point will be sub 100p.

IAG will not go bust, the worst outcome is that they would have to go cap in hand to the UK govt which is not their style. After Brexit the need for a Flag carrier servicing all corners of the globe will be more important than ever. A vaccine will come before next Easter if it doesn’t we are all ****ed. The immediate problem for IAG is the SP today, the vote should go through at about 3pm today and the strike rate will have to be declared this week, if the SP drifts under200p today I can see this dropping to 150p after the RI dust has settled. IAG should have kept their powder dry to the new year, the SP is far too low for an RI.

@Crystal: It would appear you don’t have the right temperament to be an investor, it is not easy, if it was everyone would be at it. Investing is more about Mental resilience than financial knowledge. I can guarantee you that the SP in NEX on today’s date will be double in 18months and treble in 3 years. Nex is a slow but profitable burner.
