@Ben: The MM’s can influence the market some of the time but not all of the time. The reason why the SP is so low is down to market sentiment, what this SP needs is a vaccine, the rapid antibody test is not going to make any difference. No one is flying, the planes are taking off and landing but unfortunately there are no bums on seats. If IAG were achieving good yields it would be reflected in the SP.

Be careful you don’t disappear up your own arse: Fund Managers with an army of analysts and the latest software get it wrong more times when than they get it right. It is often down to just a good dollop of Lady Luck.

@Noggers: Big oil is certainly unfashionable but it hasn’t had its day. Oil and gas will still be a significant share of the energy mix in 30 years time, I agree there is certainly more environmental pressure heaped on Western Org’s but there is still
Money to be made from BP at 200p a share believe me. Next year BP should b/e at 35$ a barrel, the only negative is Bernard the CEO, I can see him getting the sack very soon. They need to be more Exxon and less Greta! Nex is a great share and if I only had to choose one it would be Nex, my issue is that now 90% of my portfolio is in Nex which is why I may look to jump back in at my old shares to provide a bit more balance in my portfolio.

@Jack: Providing you hold shares in RR at 4:29 on Friday the 23rd of October You will be entitled to participate in the RI. The share goes ex Rights on Monday the 26th and at this time you are not entitled to participate in the RI and the new SP on opening will be the TERP price as explained by a previous poster.

@Paddyboy: The last tranch of shares I sold in BP was on the 27/8 @ 269.41p to put into Nex and I thought at the time I had been mugged, today they stand at 214.30p, a further fall of 20%, can you believe it? It has passed the year time low by nearly 5% and like you I believe the SP is looking very attractive. Like RR it had a bit of a spurt late PM with the shorters closing their positions but I can see it dropping further. I would be very surprised if it hits 200p as there would be some bounce off if it did. When and if the Vaccine moment comes there is going to be some recoil with the likes of IAG, RR, BP and Nex. Nex is a great port for safety and growth but there could be some splicing in the coming days/ weeks if those shares continue South.

@Deanmck: Be careful that you don’t erode your credibility by posting flippant remarks about your family members flouting laws that are in the interest of all UK citizens. The rules are there for a reason and I refrained from going to Portugal, with IAG of course, as the 2 week quarantine would have been problematic for me. There is no way I would ever have broken the law, as I am a responsible citizen.

@Willie: Don’t be so sure, they said that about IAG and the markets are not dissimilar.

I have to say WAM you have taken some stick
on this BB and I have seen your views going all the way back to April and you did call it. I never believed it when you stated repeatedly that the SP would fall back below 159p the post Covid low and it did, from 350p to 155p and here we are discussing the IAG share price of 80p which now looks a dead cert. A BB needs balance not just for committed investors but for those who are considering a position so that all views can be considered. I am a long term holder who fortunately saw the risk in the RI and did not participate, this is a great company with great potential but why buy something today when it can be so much cheaper in the coming weeks?

I think the data regarding the RI take up is released on Thursday, should make interesting reading. I Have to say the SP does seem sluggish the dynamic antibody testing is having little impact on the price and I can certainly see a 10% drop next Wednesday.

Serious money piling in now, Paddy it could be 180p by the end of the week. The dam has burst.

To be fair, it is hard to catch a falling knife, I am not a greedyman but I would settle for an entry price of 75p.

@Hellyeah: As stated it won’t be 50% but it will certainly be more than 5% at 8:05, I am hoping it will
be at least 15% there will be a lot of nervous investors who want to off-load.

@Dickyboy. If this drops 50% I will sell everything I own to jump in. If it drops to the all year low, about 17% I shall be in for a short term dabble, this is a lot of hype about nothing all airlines are hanging on a thread. Forget vaccine precedents, the amount of cash that has been thrown at finding a CV19 vaccine is mind-boggling, there will be a declaration before Christmas I am certain of it. IAG and EasyJet will all be double-baggers within 6 months when the news comes.

October will indeed be an interesting month for IAG, two dates, the 7th and the 30th, it will be interesting to see the 3rd quarter cash burn.

@Calamari. The SP the weeks before the RI date was pumped artificially high which Is why I stated several times before the 11th you will obtain a better deal out the RI tent than within it- please check my posts. New investors were suckered with the discount and the number of shares offered was irresponsible a 6th form Business student could have done a better job. At least Alex and his pals had the sense not to take up their rights, what does that say about a BOD who sell their rights?

So tell me this Paddy if the SP is sub 80p tomorrow, will you be buying or wait until the 7th?

Paddy, you have to feel sorry for anyone who took up the RI, it was manipulation at its finest. I could not believe the SP the week before the RI all those poor investors duped. I remember a few rampers who seem to have gone very quiet all of a sudden, Portland being one of them, which is why you need contrasting views on a BB to provide balance.

Paddyboy I agree and whatever happens with the share going South in the next 10 days I would not be able to commit until the 7th as that is certainly going to have a ripple effect. Testing will not save the airlines they need a vaccine and I think we will see one before the year end, anything sub 75p will be a steal for this share and is my entry point if I am lucky. I think we have about 3 weeks max for a position and then we will see more positive sentiment towards the airlines.

@Wasu: Don’t take this share malarkey too serious and end up disappearing up your own arse. Business is business is business IAG is a great company with great prospects, we just want to own it at a lower price than you.
