Wasu: The full 3rd quarter figures will be released next Friday, this is a summary. The bit about the 4th quarter is interesting. IMO they are softening the market up for some brutal figures.

I was in the Rugby club tonight and one of my chums reckons the 3rd quarter loss could be in excess of 2.5 billion? I thought 2 billion which is bad enough but could you imagine if the loss is more than the RI- Blood Bath.

I read in the BMJ this morning about the Chinese vaccine. Dr Bo Wong and Dr Cal Wong (Two Brothers) claimed the efficacy of the vaccine. This was dismissed by the BMJ as two Wongs don’t make a right ...........

Chaps: Thanks for the feedback I will consider your views in detail, starting to believe this sector has a stronger rebound than aviation when the Vaccine day comes.

I have to say, I would never have thought I would ever invest in this segment, the more you look at it the more attractive it is. I have no issues with Nex (Although it did act a bit AIMish this week) and on Thursday put a few quid in SCG, I have looked at their accounts and although they are carrying a bit of debt, it does look manageable, but the SP does seem very attractive. I am 80% in Nex but am I missing something with SCG? Any comments would be appreciated.

@Tradingplaces et al: I just love it that you take a real interest in my life because when they stop talking about you that is when you need to worry! Currently, I am invested in Nex and StageCoach and £9600 in IAG. Big Oil Is finished, there’s nowt to be made in BP unless it drops to 150p, them days have gone and will never come back.

@Nomad: The depth of this Covid Malarchy has taken us all by surprise. It is now that we are realising somethings will never be the same. I can see the 3rd quarter loss being North of 2 Billion and I can see the headline now. “IAG RI wiped out by third quarter loss”. That is going to spook a whole lot of investors.

I answered your question, because the 10k prevents me looking it up, 10k IMO is not an investment, compared to what I lost on Nex in the last week it Is nothing, I am still 20% up there but investment amounts are subjective, I don’t see 10k as a high amount.

George: The height of the holiday season.......Talk about clutching at straws, I am glad you are not my accountant. The proof is in the eating of the pudding my friend, we will see at 7:0am on the 30th.

Modest Q3 earnings! Get real George, they are going to be nasty. By the way, in July and August I am sure you will find data that supports that the SP dropped 8 out of 10 continuous trading days.

@Sunsurfer. I have only invested in two shares, IAG and BP. Both long term, I can vaguely remember when they were BA the shares nearly bounced off 800p, but don’t feel sorry for long term shareholders as we earned dividends, you may not believe it, but the whole ethos of owning shares is to earn dividends. Both BP and IAG have paid me back at least 3 or 4 times over the last 30 years. I like to have those shares because it saves me continuously looking for IAG, it is always on my screen and the shares won’t be alone for long once it hits 75p they will have many, many shares joining them.

That’s how it is going to be over the next 10 trading days, one, two and 3% drop everyday maybe one or two days when it will b/e, that will take it low 80’s then bang in 2 week’s time to take it in the 70’s.

Totally unexpected drop in one week but if this jumped 10% today you wouldn’t be surprised. @Paddyboy: Don’t jump off at 170p next time , that is when it will bounce up to 200p! A trading update will strengthen the foundations. This is ready for another bounce.

Wasu: Simple answer Covid and stage 3 trials. I thought that in that time Ox/AZ would have had positive news and that is not going to happen. Further to that we have this second wave, this share is like a survivor in a little rubber dinghy surrounded by sharks and back up ain’t coming until after the 30th. The news will be brutal and take it below 80p, would I buy at 79p? : Yes I would because the price begins with a seven.
