The Dow futures up 450 points that is a beautiful sign for some positive trading this afternoon. The SP will easily break 100p and beyond and form a good support, seeing a bit of resistance at 98/99p but once we push through that, happy days. If you don’t like risk, sell now, but if you think there is going to be a decisive win we are in for a good week. Sunsurfer, you made the right call, I topped up this morning, maybe a tad higher than I should have, but what is 5 or 6 % on a 2-3 bagger. If I didn’t think it would rise, I wouldn’t have bought.

@Triumph: Firstly, it does matter who wins as long as they win convincingly and the other party concedes defeat. The last thing we need is court cases to decide on the outcome. The majority of CEO’s in the Dow are supporting Biden. The democrats are promoting a 2.2 Trillion stimulus package, that’s is not far behind the 3 Trillion package that Trump put together in March and got things going. Don’t be concerned about a Biden win, they will lock down but at least they will sort it out.

@Wasu: I actually bought in Friday morning at 89p, at least it started with an 8! I bought about 25%! of what I would like and I should have bought another 25% this morning but I got greedy and missed the boat. Anyone buying these shares below a 100p won’t go wrong, in my opinion there is too much risk now of being out of travel shares. I believe Biden will win and Trump will concede and we are going to see a strong surge this week for all equities. It was remarkable that the share held up like it did considering the whole fleet is grounded for the next 4 weeks. I watched Michael Gove over the weekend and he seemed very forthright they know good news is coming. I have always said you don’t want to be outside the room when that beautiful day comes. I also took a dip in Tui that is also a good rebound share. Apart from BP all my shares are travel so if the vaccine doesn’t come I am f_cked. I would have liked 80p but we can’t have what we always want. The muppets who try and form a correlation between IAG and RYA and EZY don’t understand aviation. If there is a vaccine declared this month this will be 250 by next Autumn minimum.

Dow Futures nearly 400 points ahead, disagree with Sunsurfer, the FTSE has always followed the American markets and we always move in their shadow. We are the stable pony and they are the thoroughbred, Say what you like about them yanks but the good old USA is the heartbeat of Capitalism. I can see the markets surging this week and I have a feeling this share will finish blue today. Well done to those who got in at below 90p even at the current prices they are looking good for a day trade.

Further to that if Biden wins, the markets will know that Covid will be sorted out and the sooner that happens the sooner IAG can start earning some real cash. The markets are pricing in a strong Biden win which is why there was no Armageddon this morning.

Well that was a bit of excitement, not the drama we were expecting though. Strange, IAG are down 3% and we are nearly 6% down, we have a could steady income and they are on their arse. It was good to see the oilers holding firm but there will be twists and turns this week make no mistake.

@Melie: They retired the 747’s because they were gas guzzlers, they currently have in service: 32 Dreamliners, 7 A350’s and 18 777’s. They have 12 380’s parked up but we’re bring back 5 for service in November and 18 777’s parked up with 2 futures for long haul. That’s seems a decent long haul fleet to me, doesn’t it? Roger: You obviously no f-uck all about the aviation industry. One advantage IAG have over the low costs is a hub in West London, that services 5 continents and 160 destinations. There is more to IAG than taking stag parties to Marbella you cr-etin. The world wants to travel and personally like most middle-class/upper class customers, I would rather eat my fu-cking toes than fly RA. The last 10 years IAG have paid a dividend of about 10% Per annum, they are a money making machine and when this Covid sh-ite evaporates they will be a licence to print money. The only negative they have ever had is the wage structure and this is now gone, I am hoping that if I can buy at 80p tomorrow it will will be 250p minimum by next August.

I for one will be diving in first thing Monday morning, it won’t be a slow bleed. What it comes down to is a gamble on a vaccine being released before Christmas. It does not matter when we get around to administrating it the markets are buying for 12 months ahead. Investing is a risk, but if the vaccine day does come there will be buckets of cash to be made from this and all travel stocks. These opportunities come around once every 10 years or so. Further to that, after this debacle I feel the travel industry is going to receive a lot of love from the Government.

I jumped back in BP at 192p, too much temptation at that price and they are still paying a dividend! I can’t see much variation with BP, during lockdown they hit 370p and Crude was $30 ppb. I think the shock in all shares will be instant and investors will see it as the last chance to bag cheap shares before the vaccine. It isn’t going to be Armageddon on Monday morning.

I can’t see much of an issue with Nex, I would be surprised if it dropped more than 6 or 7%. I hold a bit of GOG so I might take a bit more pain there. I am hoping my BP stock is not affected, I might be turning some of that into IAG stock if that drops to 80p. Great time to be in cash make no mistake.

It’s a funny old business this share malarchy, once you think you have cracked it, then that is the time to worry. It certainly looks like it will visit my 80p on Monday and once it does I will buy it with vigour. It won’t be a slow bleed all the pain will be instant, but make no mistake there will be pain.

George, no, your statement is incorrect. The Cargo element rose by 12% and not 300% in the third quarter. I am starting to think that you are a 15 year old kid larking about in your bedroom.

George the fool: I see that he is still going on about cargo. In the 3rd quarter, the segment only rose by 12.3%. In 2019 it was 4 % of the turnover and this year it was 42%, it goes to show how few passengers they are flying. IAG can not survive on Cargo.

There remains uncertainty created by Covid-19.

@Cleverinvestor: Don’t concern yourself with those buys and sells on LSE, they are mostly wrong. The LSE are not allowed to state a buy or a sale so the software works out the mid point of the spread, if it is above the mid-point it is a buy if below it is a sell. As the transactions are so quick and the spread is always moving it makes the process very difficult for the software to identify correctly. Observing buy and sales is a futile exercise.
