No technology we currently have can threaten the PCR industry. Credible to say it may impact the infectious disease testing segment of that industry but I actually see LFT tech as opening a new market segment rather than a direct threat to the existing one. PCR and NGS based technologies are expected to grow at a global CAGR of 5% for at least the next 10 years.

Looks like a submission error. Not altogether uncommon particularly as there are various different regulations and submission requirements depending upon the geographical territory.

The product is CE marked meaning it can be placed for sales in Europe (for the time being CE marking can be conducted by "self cert" without approval by a notified body) presumably the MHRA submission is for consideration by UK governmental processes.

The complex part is that no-one will buy a medical device without running their own evaluation (it is fairly easy to bias the clinical study for CE marking unintentionally for example by selecting a positive cohort who are naturally high in viral load) so the path to sales is not simple even after CE marking.

The mologic/visitect test has an advantage as it was successfully evaluated by a respected third party (FIND) which should provide a clearer runway to market for Mologic currently.

I expect both products will do well as COVID testing is with us for the forseeable.
