The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I am also eagerly awaiting the interim results. I'm optimistic given the 2006 Year-End results and the recent RNS stating that growth is continuing as expected by management.Only wish I had the spare cash to buy more GAR shares!
There must be less than 15 million GAR shares in free float now. I topped up my holding at 4.75p and 6.3p. With fewer and fewer shares available and the interims due soon I hope GAR will soar to 15-20p, possibly higher. What do you think Steviedee?
That was very kind of Garner plc to release that pre-interim statement, albeit a little late in the day!Expect good results and a significant rise in the SP. Also possibility of a re-rating of the SP in the near future.
GAR is real gem of a growth company IMHO. Now at a bargain price?Good growth prospects with only 30 million shares.Check out the price of the preferential shares GARA.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Thanks, I did buy into Nufcor at the time I posted. I think this company's SP has a long way to go yet! Recent UK government approval to go ahead with the new generation nuclear power station build programme and China's plan to build 10-20 new nuclear power stations should push up uranium price. Uranium oxide is not found in abundance and growing demand will only serve to push up the price to $100 per lb plus.I think that there will be consolidation within the uranium sector with the likes of BHP, Rio Tinto and Palladin resources (not to mention the Chinese, RSA, Canadian and Kaszak U miners) hungry to acquire the small and midtear producers(watch out for Uramin). Good luck!
I have been watching my investment eroded away in this company since its consolidation. GTL faces one or two problems in my opinion:1)The price of corn has soared to new heights; 2) The big players are muscling in to grab their slice of the renewables/green energy cake. Both of these factors do not bode well for GTL since it has only a miniscule maket share and the company will have no way of avoiding having to pay top dollar to its corn suppliers before long. If techinically and economically feasible GTL should have adapted its plant to process sugar beet/sugar cane as well as corn (Brazil had it right from the beginning!). I would hate to see GTL suffer the same fate as Biofuels Corp. I will not be investing any more of my cash into GTL.
AIMR will in MHO become a significant resource company within the short term. Revenues from the Perkoa Zn mine once developed will turn AIMR into a produtive mining company (few AIM listed mineral exploration and mining companies can claim to have a proven resource of near one million tonnes of Zn metal, at least not at this price!). Zambian copper JV with BHP looks very promising indeed. One to watch!
Can anyone confirm the date of Garner's AGM please? I was under the impression that it was scheduled to take place on 8/05/07.
I have also taken the plunge and invested a few grand in GAR. I hope it will grow at the rate the City is at present. Look forward to the interims in August. Good management team. They have emphasized that cash generation is a priority for the company. One to hold IMHO.
This company is going places!Garner plc has several Blue Chip clients on its books, including a couple of FTSE top ten companies. There seems to be no stop to the growth of the City at the moment and demand for quality corporate search companies. I think that this is a growth company with very good prospects.
Amer, The last UK population census was grossly inaccurate with respect to delineating the true size of Britain's growing Muslim population. In fact the whole UK population was grossly underestimated. I have been reliably informed from a Home Office source that the UK population is nearer 70 million strong and that the Muslim population is nearing 8 million!Should bode well for IBB!
pharma, As you know Bodisen Bio is a Chinese agrichemical/biotech company. It floated at £7.90 during the summer and climbed to £10.00 or thereabouts. I was tempted to buy in when it started to fall from £10.00 but fortunately for me I held back.Trouble with some Chinese run companies is that you often don't really know the full story on what's going on behind the scenes. Take a look at IGMG a Chinese mobile phone services provider which floated at 50p and has ended up now languishing at 10p(corruption charges against senior employees). Corruption is still rife in some Chinese owned companies and that may be what is behind the fall in BODI's SP. A tad too risky for me.
Davius, apologies. Here is the extract that I was going by from GTL's Notice of Annual General Meeting document(put it below for your info): Special Business Share consolidation (Resolution 6) It is proposed that every 100 Ordinary Shares of 0.01p each in the company should be consolidated into 1 new ordinary share of £1.00(the "New Shares"). Following consolidation, Shareholders will hold 1 New Share for every 100 Ordinary Shares which they held at 5pm on 30 November 2006. The New Shares will have the same rights as the existing Ordinary Shares.
Flamelily, mumstheword is CORRECT in quoting that for every 100 ordinary shares you currently hold you will receive 1 new share at the value of £1.00. So 100,000shares(bought at roughly £2000) will consolidate down to 1000 new shares at a collective value of £1000, halving your investment. Then I'm afraid we may see GTL hammered to 40p or lower post-consolidation (effectively halving your initial investment for a second time). See what happened to Tanzania Gold (24 million shares) after the company reorganised and consolidated to £1.00. Having said that GTL may zoom up post-consolidation. I have a feeling that the institutions will buy up as many shares between now and the date of consolidation, after which they will use them to drive down the price inorder to scoop up more at rock bottom. If you hold you should get all your money back with profit in time.
Does anyone one know the latest on AIMR? I presume that the decline is being cut into the zinc ore body, but can't find any news. With zinc inventories at an all time low and consumption increasing zinc prices should rise steadily.
I would be tempted to hold any amount over 500,000 shares if bought at 1.98-2.25p and add to it if the SP is knocked post-consolidation.
Getting closer to cutting the decline into the zinc ore body. Zinc prices are soaring with some analysts predicting a zinc price of $10,000-12,000 per tonne in the longterm. With take- off agreements already in place, AIM Resources will do very well indeed.
It's looking brighter and brighter for gold in general. The Chinese have announced that they want to diversify a proportion of their currency reserves away from US dollars into gold. This will have a continued positive effect on the gold price.Gold set to top $640 per troy ounce this week(?)I reckon CMR will reach 6p by end of week.
USAShareholder, I am in two minds about what will happen to GTL's SP in the next few days, but I am more inclined to take a cautious approach initially. I think it is likely that the SP could be driven down by institutional investors so they can bag as many shares as possible a rock-bottom prices prior to consolidation. After consolidation, with just 23 million shares, it's possible that the SP will be driven down from £1.00 to a nadir as low as 30p during initial trading of the new ordinary shares.GTL is going to be a very volatile share post-consolidation until a large proportion of its shares are out of free float. I hope there is a fall in the SP post-consolidation, that's when I will buy in!
IMO GTL Resources has decided to consolidated too soon. Even with 2.3 bn shares there was every possibility of the SP reaching 8-10p once the ethanol plant was in production. Now there is a possibility the SP will be knocked to 1.5-1.75p prior to Nov 30th, and then knocked again post-consolidation to 30-40p.I agree that consolidation was inevitable, but the timing was wrong and the consolidation should have been no more than 50 for 1 giving around 50 million shares. If you're unsure what will happen I'd take your money out sooner rather than later.
