Yes you do administer the swab yourself now. I actually went and got tested Friday, my wife’s pregnant and I had a flu type symptoms with a bit of a temp, I didn’t for a second think I had Covid but needed to put her mind at rest. My nearest drive in test centre is a 45 min drive away, I queued for about 20 mins, then pulled up had to call the guys at the gate who directs you to a parking bay, another fella comes and passes you a bag with the swab, saline etc, and you swab yourself, behind tonsils and as far back in nose as possible. Pack it away give it to the guy he scans your qr code to match you with your sample and off you go, I did the test at 11am and had the results before 3am the next day. Give me a 10 min test anyday.
Completely agree, I fully expect avacta to sell billions of tests worldwide through government deals, but having an exclusive d2c deal with a brand new retailer instead of using existing retailers with millions of users daily doesn’t make sense, look at clear blue pregnancy test, literally sold everywhere and is considered the gold standard, they have no d2c because the market is so big. It’s like boohoo being the only retailer to sell black dresses they couldn’t manage the load
I’ve come to enjoy RichKen’s super positive posts and his business antics, at first I found them slightly rampey, but actually it seems like he just really believes in avacta which is great. The only thing that doesn’t add up is the name..... unless his names Richard, that nickname he’s given himself screams either sarcasm or arrogance, and he doesn’t come across sarcastic. ;)
What’s the thoughts on the amount of manufacturing partners, are we talking 2 or 3 or many more? Also, should we expect an RNS for each,
and if there was one absolute game changer of a manufacturer we could partner with, who would that be, or was BBI the top dog?
Just trying to gauge the potential news flow outside of the Bams results?
This was really helpful thanks.... so the question is how long does it take to firstly produce validation batches, then how long does it take for clinical validation of those batches, tahinis when we’ll get news on sen/spec. Forgive my naïveté, but my first thought was if both stages are being fast tracked, the first stage would have a fairly rigid process (actual manufacturing) whereas stage 2 could have bandwidth to really shorten the typical timeline.... I’m thinking ram a 1000 people in a room and get them spitting.
I didn’t mention anything about their Pharma experience captain stan , I just don’t think when comparing to 100s of millions of orders to governments and the fulfilment required across the globe, they will be that relevant. But I’m sure I’m wrong especially with explanations on big boxes vs little boxes. May I suggest a career change to an estate agent, you really come across like a few I know and I’m sure you’d fit right in.
Fully believe this is gonna be the game changer and governments around the world will be waiting in line for our test.....The one thing I don’t really get is the medusa deal and the relevance. Why go down the d2c route in this way (launching an independent website) why not announce partnerships with super markets or amazon etc. Or even sell on the booho site directly. I recon it’ll be 6-12 months before any availability for tests to sell on the medusa site as firstly nobody’s heard of it and secondly they’ll need to fulfill the government orders first.
Mate, your sound advice was to, absolutely never invest again... and apparently “deadly serious” haha
You sound like you’re angry pal, thanks for the link, seems a slightly aggressive tactic, I think I’d rather lose money
What a day I’ve had, an absolute nightmare first thing, dropping my kid a nursery, I heard the news about these new tests, so before the market opened I thought I’d set a sell at 147, to try and average down a little, (basically got in at 142 about 3 months ago and just sat on it) anyway, as it opens for some reason they tried to fulfil my trade but couldn’t get the price apparently, so they’ve kept on trying, In doing so it’s taken away the ability for me to do it manually .... I also had stops at 143 but because they were trying to do the 147 that didn’t kick in either, so I called the share centre had a chat with the fella and he sorted it for me, but by that time it was down to 135, I’m now sheeting myself this is the end, so sold the the lot, then waited all day staring at the phone just to buy back again at 132 at the end of the day... I’m new to all this but the mrs found it funny, so I thought I’d give you all a little giggle.
good news today, Are we now still expecting a near term rns with regard to sensitivity etc, or have we now moved on and condor are now validating, so the news on test will be after that?
Trying to work out if they’re separate things?
Great interview, very reassuring, but the information was already known.... I worry we’re now open for the shorters to play a few games again in the coming days as Al confirmed a few weeks, fingers crossed the bams news drops mid squeeze and they all get caught out!
