New cfo appointed in April and in latest trading update he calls in deloittes to look at major projects - contraols etc. Sp falls and during analyst presentations CEO stonewalls analysts question. Sp tanks and is now recovering - both CEO and CFO need to go imho and a new bidder will surely do that!

Here's the thing about Musk - because he controls starlink, which is used by Ukraine to control its drones and other comms he can single handidly impact the war in the favour of Russia if he wants to. So everything he says is very relevant - possibly more so than Trump because he is less eratic in his statements.

Stupmy, I think you have hit on something - the new CFO has no need to support his predecessors decisions and from my own personal experience , I know that there is always debate around the 'earned value' of large contracts and how that is accounted for. Therefore , he will want to 'kitchen sink' what is found . I actually think he is a poor choice given his un helpful comments when talking about the Deloittes review ; ' We don't know what they will find' and we don't know what it will cost '. He should have instlled some confidence , particularly around the cost , which SHOUL be under his control. Frankly he needs the sack imv.

Apparantly US retailers have been hit by fears of Trump tarriffs - so obviously that includes us now. Drop seems overdone to me.

The transcript on their website in effect contains about 4 occasions when the ceo repeats what is in the RNS- because he has to frankly - unless he wants to issue another rns. The cfo does him no favours by saying we don't know what the review will cost. I think that the major projects part at less than half the business needs some numbers put around what is at risk , i.e which projects or teams have dodgy numbers. If I were a major investor I would be demanding visibility on the scale of this. In reality , even the worst projects can't be that bad and therefore the review is not an existential threat.

Blanch, I disagree that Bailey is cutting too slowly, in fact I think rates should be left where they are now or have stayed at 5% , if he was serious about reaching 2% anytime soon. In addition to the effect of NIC changes on prices we also have a significant rise in the minimum wage and the effects of all the public sector rises and bcak pay pushing up demand. RPI will soon be above 4 and cpi soon above 3 imv.

I see the Deloitte review as a way of pacifying the auditors , who naturally will be worried about the 'earned value' within the fixed price epc contracts, i.e have they forward booked meaning a 'gap' will arise as the project completes. It might be a case of 'we [wood] always do it this way , it is standard practice but the auditors , young accountants, might say 'we are not convinced' hence they bring in deloittes to provide an independent view.

Given the Amec Foster wheeler part of the business was well diversified into many sectors beyond Oil and Gas , and were big in America the economics are quite supportive into the future. Lets hope they accelerate the Deloitte work and reassure those with jitters.
