My experience with cost reimbursable contracts is that you need great local management to ensure that your project does not get stacked full of the B team who are great at increasing the costs rather than production. Superb results , with over half the mcap as cash the p/e is low single digits. SP should climb 20% imv today.

Paul, I hope Mike Ashely does start buying the stock but somehow I doubt it as it would hurt his pride too much. Going back a few years his company was worth much more than JD and he owned , a decent percentage which he sold down over the years , probably for the equivalent of 10p per share today. Given JD is still much more valuable , even after the drop I think he could not see a circumstance where he could take control unfortunately.

Alessandro, the factors that affected JD did affect Next- it is evident in that their growth was lower. However wht Next di well was set expectations low for the year and consistently raised them JD surprised to the downside - looks like they know what they are doing and JD do not.

Who will extract value from the company at a faster rate than the two incumbents,better the devils we know imv.

TD you have twice said growth is over here and i disagree their sales growth this year exceeded that of Next and there is expansion already planned. So growth is certainly on the cards imv, whether or not the UK economy improves.
