Savage, good summary of inflation foreward figures but I believe trhe whole market has been marked down in advance and unless the figures are dire we should get a bounce up. As for interest rate cuts - wait until mid summer because we have the april min wage increase, pesnion increases and no doubt doctor increase all about 10% coming through.

Ahanada, The uk has produced a magnificent company like the 7 and it is ARM holdings who's sp has doubled since the flotation a few months ago it now has a mcap in excess of $100 bn and could double again imv..

However my hope/expectation is that the clamour for everything that makes chips will carry snd through its current troubles and it will attract a price linked to future potential like on nasdaq and sp will be many multiples of current level. We shall see.

Jonny, should you sell up and move on? Well just think for a few moments about how institutions make their money - yes they buy low and sell high. So who do they buy from, if they are all doing the same thing? Yes it is private investors who therefore must be buying high from institutions and selling low to institutions. I realise it is simplistic to say that is waht institutions and mms want you to do , but they do have sking holidays to pay for and it is half term , so your generosity to the working class will not go amiss. JG, what I am confused by is the claim of recession while there are backlogs and high prices for building work, garage work etc. I think that the doom and gloom indicated by this sp is not matched by the reality of the economy which is buoyant enough to keep people buying the stuff that JD sells in decent quantities. No way should the sp be this low and it will correct soon imv.

Is now history. The economy post ww2 was built on cheap energy and our livingstandards are reducing in line with energy costs increasing. More government borrowing could only put off the pain for a few years and the bond markets have indicated that short term measure is at an end.

HL average in every respect

IG index - the best by far £3 per trade and excellent IGTV daily updates

City Index - good for indicies etc but limited overseas shares

CMCX - seemed ok until I blew the account but slightly more expensive than city index

Elon musk could buy this company with his credit card and with arm doubling since flotation , surely the wolves will be circling here?
