The last two updates coming from the company are very generic, almost like they have asked the intern to come up with a PowerPoint presentation. There is little to galvanise or entice new investors. It is mundane output with little to inspire.

We have now fallen back to 11p with momentum stuck in reverse. The positive is the ever increasing tin price the negative is a company struggling to keep the story in the public domain knowing timelines are not going to get the retail investor biting. Obviously the valuation reflects that and is a given when investing here but if you are going to do a presentation make it at least a bit more informative, analytical and dare I say adding value.

This is very much a long haul hold. Saying that the lost opportunity cost of holding may be mounting up. Anyway good luck

Down 7.5% as I type to 11.75. Short term performance has been poor and there is not much newsflow expected. Left to the whims of sentiment and of course a small seller. Anyone got a positive spin (except Ilovesushi)?

IAS 2 allows some fixed costs but not all. Anyway all good.

Just to clarify depreciation and fixed costs are not typically part of cost of sales. CoS primarily consists of variable costs directly tied to the production or purchase of the items sold

Does anyone have any thoughts on the ‘going concerns’ section of the latest interims? Seems a bit guarded or was that similar to previous statements?

Genuine question. We have 40 odd posts stating how great the news is but the market reaction is underwhelming. What is the disconnect?

For potential investors and those already invested here it is a red flag, not as you believe some form of inducement to invest.

Until the promised update (initially scheduled for early March) we await any new news to discuss. Although happily invested and holding, macro conditions have not been helpful with a knock on impact on the cost of any potential new funding needed, but soft commodities and base metals are showing up better than other sectors and the future is bright if deadlines are met.

What do you think the shares in treasury are going to be used for CEO? One guess.

The only way the buyback benefits shareholders is if they cancel them. They are not. Given to employees. Add to that the latest accounts and there is little hope here for holders. Look at the chart!

I think Oak Bloke stating he reduced his position on this, IDHC and a few others has compounded the general downturn seen across the market.

They should have got a placement away in the twenties.

The problem here is the astronomical rise from sub 5 seemed to be following a number of coincidences. Major shareholder gets warrants for interest free loan at circa 4p, tipped by so called experts, flurry of positive RNSs promising great things…up goes the sp, in come PIs, then followed by tumbleweed.

Apologies I wish there was an edit button to correct more than one mistake but you get the gist.

Jeez doe# this ever have a good day? Although to be fair there was a moment a few days back I thought the trend had been broken but unfortunately now dropping back into a pattern of daily falls.

I suppose there is no point fighting the market and the multiple shorts but this is getting priced for failure. There is a slight change in sentiment as to the disruption AI can do to companies such as this an LSEG for example and the value of stored data will eventually be priced back into the equation. However, a hard hold at the moment but momentum should swing purely on fundamentals but sentiment needs a further nudge.

The chart is also not our friend as support levels gone. So a bit of wishful thinking and a hope an end to a cycle of AI or nothing will edge closer to logical thinking and of course valuations.

Well I am not saying patience is definitely the answer, who knows when and at what price this will eventually fall. It may be the answer it may not. If we knew for sure we would all be rich! Who says selling today and buying copper, shorting the DAX etc wouldn’t make you more.

But yes I am holding but it is under watch now. I have a little niggle that selling the M&E division will takeaway the Studios biggest customer unless stipulations in the Comcast deal but overall I wouldn’t be holding if not seeing a chance of largish gains.

To add I personally see value here and it will manifest itself in the share price but it has to be set against a market that is very fractured. Indices maybe at highs but really driven by individual sectors and it is hard to compete against the mountain of money that momentum brings with it. Equally have concerns as to the size of any uplift on Comcast agreeing terms as the regulatory process will mute initial excitement. However, the content plus the studios will inevitably fall to bigger and richer players. To me that a given. It’s is just how patient you are versus measuring the opportunity cost given up. Over to the ITV board and Media giants to get the party started (or not). Holding and hoping.

The problem here is one of lost opportunity cost. Most agree the sum of the parts are worth more than the market cap and that consolidation is inevitable. However, it seems not many people or institutions want to buy into the story and wait. Equally those that have held maybe getting frustrated and moving on to more racy sectors.

The question is why. If it is undervalued combined with being a takeover target why has the share price underperformed? Some may question that the sum of the parts is fairly or overvalued but I think most are deterred by the rapidly changing face of the media landscape and it’s obvious impact on advertising revenue. It is definitely shunned by many but can’t help thinking the content library is the biggest prize along with the studios.

The CEO is an easy target and maybe the board should be doing more but if you criticise her you should really post what should be done differently and put out alternative strategies to provide balance.

Mostly true and definitely see only upside from here. Remember this is not a hostile bid. It seems both parties share the same aim and as such the chances of a formal offer being agreed are high.

The only small negative I can see for the residual Studio side is that their best customer is ITV ME division. If now independent the commissioning of programmes might see them cast a wider net. There are synergies in the current set up which are not mentioned often. That said I am confident the deal will be officially agreed between the two but the regulatory process will take circa 12 months. And in that 12 month window of uncertainty where does that leave any potential bidders and the Studio business. Hard to sell it prior to approval of the MandE division as if it falls through ITV could be left with just that and the market price will go back to its rather narrow minded valuation
