Strange share this one.

The share price movement is one of extremes either down for weeks at a time or up. No middle ground. And it seems unrelated to wider market movements or industry news.

The company fundamentals are solid. The investment from the last 2 years should start to come through this year. All looks good except the share price. Confident this will turn around.

‘The holy grail in licences’…Do you get the feeling the market doesn’t agree.

One of the only betting firms I know that fails to make a profit year after year.

The reality is that the hoped for opening up of California disappeared with the failure of the proposal and it looks like the earliest date is 2026.

I am still fascinated by the valuation of £75m for the licences. There is a lot of wishful thinking there.

We need to sell up as soon as possible as we consistently lose money. There is value in the business and of course the licences but as a business looking for a buyer rather than being approached directly investor should temper their ambitions.

However, any gossip, rumours, information on interested parties has been thin on the ground to say the least.

Just failing to catch a break here. Very hard to discern why this consistent fall based on trading patterns. Certainly one to test an investors resolve. Let’s hope they complete plans to boost their online presence this month. A sign the for sale sign is going up?

Thanks for the reply but there are no metrics to get to a £75 million valuation, 15 times current market cap. However, I am not trying to be obtuse. I can’t find a way to value the licences. I would of thought they would of been intangible assets on the balance sheet but they are not.

My feel is that’s wishful thinking. We currently have all the licenses and can’t make a profit. I am not sure that until the Californian legislation to legalise gambling is a bit closer that anyone would pay close to that amount. Very happy to be proved wrong.

Are you able to breakdown that fair value of £75m? If only.

It is only ‘adverse conditions’ if abnormal. It was the same last year.

This is a loss making business year after year supported by company loans from a connected party. The Californian path to legalisation of gambling has not been a fast as hoped.

There is a huge difference between an unsolicited offer and planting a for sale sign. However, we are where we are. Get it done.

This company drives me nuts. It behaves like a private company and seems to lack any strategic direction or plans for growth. Investor engagement is zero and they seem content to loss money each year and sit in hope for legislation change that is not coming this year.

Probably like many others trapped in at this price.

The only negative I could see was the mention of the benefits of lower investment costs on the saleforce implementation being seen H2 2024. I could of sworn they said the same thing about H2 2023 previously.

However, it is so disheartening and frustrating to see companies meeting market expectations and getting punished. Where is the investor premium for taking on risk set at? Is the uk market broken?

Holding and envisage large gains but you can’t fight market trends. Hopefully some sanity will come back to the UK market place. It is a good company with good margins and growth in a market that can only grow. I suppose we wait for the sales pipeline update but hoping against hope this shifts to its rightful price after a very long and painful wait.

Considering the increasing amount of business and associated revenue being generated from the States and that this sector will continue to grow is it possible to get a US listing?

Valuations on UK exchanges defy believe in some cases yet as much as I believe it is overdone nothing has changed for years. So with money pouring out of the UK and into more dynamic markets surely it is a no brainier to get a dual listing. I know there are hurdles and costs but the pay back would be huge.

The last few months has seen us yo young between a relatively narrow range even with the results out and as spectacular as they were the numbers pretty much matched two brokers expectations for EBITDA and Cash Balances.

So what will get us out of this rut? At a macro level mooted changes to ISAs may help AIM but unless there is takeover talk or dual listing what is the catalyst here near term?

Just get the feel they need to be a bit more dynamic and with the spare cash either target an acquisition or consider merging to realise shareholder value. A full takeover must be a consideration in an industry awash with big players looking for niche additions. 70p fair?

I think if you look back on the H1 interims the expectations were set slightly higher if taking the percentage improvements to revenue etc on face value for that period

As much as I like it jumping up pre update it does leave a rather bitter taste.

A 1.3 million purchase. Hopefully a positive indicator for a Monday announcement

Thanks for the response but I don’t necessarily agree. If the company wants to use profits to reinvest and grow to meets its potential market I have no concerns. It is the returns on this investment I am looking to see this year. Will the Saleforce integration and funding of a central hub pay off? Hopefully so.

Once fully established and conquered their market place then sure dividends sound like the right place to go but keeping debt down and reinvesting in a growth market is by no means a negative for Watr.

This share really does test my limits!

WATR stated that the benefits of a rather long and costly investment programme would shine through from H2 2023. The integration with Salesforce software was then later stated to be complete 1st qtr 2024. The market need to see tangible returns on the investment as it seems there is some doubt as to its effectiveness.

To me the financials look good and the industry sector pretty much recession proof. Obviously as an investor I see a lot of upside this year but it is hard to ignore the extreme trading patterns - days of falls and rises with little discerning market news.

They seem very quiet on contract news and self promotion and yet the CEO comes across very well. It just seems many old holders jumped ship with trailing stop losses with big gains but the potential is still here to be realised.

Production for 9 months 25,262 guidance 33,500 to 35,000. Do the maths. You can’t take q3 and pro rats that rate. The guidance is for the calendar year 2023. So I expect hitting lower end of guidance.

They have stated funds are needed post licence. A licence they predicted would be forthcoming at the start of 2023. Whether this is debt or placement is to be seen. They stated they won’t raise at lows but didn’t rule out anything in recent statements.

As to not wanting to discuss timelines or indigenous issues that is your loss.

To be honest time is the only way a debate like this can be settled so let’s wait and see.

Just for a bit of balance. How many people know that the licence SRB are awaiting is the second of three? How many people know they intend to raise funds once the 2nd licence is approved? How many people know of the growing strength of the Indigenous political power? How many remember the fraudulent embezzlement of funds a few years back? How many people know the time lag to significant production levels is plus one year from approval?

And quoting Palito 2019 figures of a 10,000 was inclusive of San Chico which has since been ceased.

They are scrapping to achieve the lower end of a production guidance that was seen as low when set. Next years targets are hardly company changing.
