Two little crutches: 77
That's a genuine bingo call for 77 and quite apt since it feels like we've been hobbling on crutches for a while. Hope to see us return to fighting for shortly! C'mon SML! :)
Tickup arrived nice - only 1.25p per share more to go and I'll be happy ;)
Nice bit of blue today - looks like full ask has been paid too so hopefully a further wee tick up coming. :)
Sorry major (et al), I appreciate the chat was off topic but personally speaking it was nice to have at least some dialogue on here with fellow SML investors even if it was off topic. It's all very well to say other boards have their own threads and that is certainly true but since we're PI's who, being invested in SML, likely have similar investment appetites it's sometimes nice to briefly share other stocks particularly while we're waiting for news from the SML board.
Have a lovely weekend :)
Thanks boys - I'll DMOR and maybe stick a toe in the water. Really appreciate your responses :)
Thanks Fira - I've had a torrid time of late with my stocks - fingers burned etc. Had a look at KRS, ITM and CWR but don't really have time to research them just now - I could certainly use a break though. Hope we get a solid RNS from SML soon!
Hi Prop, no I'm not - first I heard of it was in this thread. I might take a look at it now - I only looked at the 1 year chart.
KRS went from 0.53 in November to 0.15 yesterday so today's 25% rise while welcome should perhaps be taken in context. SML is oversold IMO and we should be back above 1p as soon as funding is sorted out. I'd also have expected more movement on Arbitration very disappointing it's taken this long and we've not even met them yet. However we are where we are. Cobre continues to cover overheads and I'm quite sure the team on the ground are doing all they can to increase sales and bring in new clients while we wait for LC to start generating income and a healthy ROI.

The figures are from RNS Number : 2714N on 23 September 2019 GButts. I would perhaps suggest the figures are perhaps more representative of the way the US legal system works however even if we were able to claw back the $2,300,000 in relation to payments outstanding to date alone it would be significant. Of course it's possible we may end up with nothing except a moral victory from the arbitration but even if that happens we still have the forfeited deposits and magnetite so no worse off than we are now.
There are other funding options than a placing.
Also easy to forget the former cobre client was going to deposit $4m earlier in the year (May) to cover sales but after pulling out we're now demanding the following from them (subject to arbitration):
1) in excess of $2,300,000 in relation to payments outstanding to date;
2) in excess of $19,000,000 in relation to lost profits for the balance of the contract; and
3) punitive damages as permitted by law.
We'll see what comes of it but perhaps an agreement on the above could come sooner than expected.
I do dotcom, very frustrating. Redmoor is a world class asset and LC, while taking longer than expected, is shaping up. We had a setback but we're making good money from Cobre, sales up 12.5% and we still have the forfeited magnetite and deposits from the former client. I'd hope to see a continued recovery towards a minimum 1p as surprised suggests.
Cobre sales UP 12.5% and sp is down 25%??? Have I missed something? News still due on LC and redmoor funding but seems an extreme reaction to a positive RNS.
I've got bags DGR - three bags full of SML - one for the tax man, one for the dame and one for my children who will be living down a lane (unless we get back up to a more sensible sp). I also have bags under my eyes - at least 2 apiece. Where's that Tsunami!?!
;)
Maybe it's DJ buying back in again ;) just can't stay away that one.
Well happy and surprised to see a rise but I'd be surprised if surprised is surprised after predicting a gap up. Hopefully this continues until we're back above 1p again.
Actually that's rather comforting as my average is close to 2p. Hopefully we'll be back there before too long!
No need to apologise DV, a very welcome rise even if we do know the source. Were you averaging up or down?
So anyway - just to turn the topic back to SML again - nice to see a blue day today! Cobre is still bringing in money, Leigh Creek is warming up and while we have to find some cash to pay NAE for Redmoor it's a world class asset that will IMO pay dividends (literally) in years to come.
I thought we were keeping the board clear of politics? ;)
Since you asked:
SNP is a vehicle to independence, whether it would remain as a political party post independence is uncertain however I guarantee there will be elections in Scotland after independence. Subordinate branches of Tories, Labour & Liberal Democrats operate in Scotland and I would expect the political discourse to significantly improve after they stop taking orders from SE England. Only the SNP and Green Party are based in Scotland.
On Education Fira: like many votes the unionist parties cynically voted for an amendment to the education bill to prevent assessment of primary 1 pupils which was widely supported by the teaching profession as a means of helping understand and improve attainment. This wasn't done for the benefit of children it was done in the name of tribalism. There is a reason that Labour has seen political wipeout in Scotland - this is one of countless examples.
I'll say no more on the matter save to say that England and Scotland are on very different trajectories - I wholeheartedly and emphatically support English Independence. Take back your country and embrace being English.
He was downbeat about arbitration but upbeat about the next largest client and SML still have the magnetite that wasn't delivered to the (former) major client. I imagine the cobre team have been working extremely hard to make up for the loss in sales. It's the one area of the business that could expand significantly without proportional increases in costs. It would be good to hear some progress (if any) on business development from Cobre.
