Subject: Complaint Regarding Biased Comments by Kevan Jones MP About Harland and Wolff

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the recent statements made by Kevan Jones MP about Harland and Wolff. As a resident of Durham and a staunch supporter of local industries, I find the negative portrayal of Harland and Wolff both unjust and damaging.

Harland and Wolff has been a cornerstone of our UK community for decades, providing employment and contributing significantly to the local economy. The company's recent endeavors and resilience in the face of economic challenges should be commended, not undermined by biased and unconstructive criticism from a public figure who holds significant influence.

Specifically, Kevan Jones MP made comments on most recently,13 May 2024 and many other recent occasions. These remarks not only misrepresent the current state and potential of Harland and Wolff but also demoralize the employees and stakeholders who are working diligently to ensure the company's success.

It is essential that public representatives offer a balanced and fair perspective, especially when discussing institutions that are vital to our economy. The negativity propagated by him is counterproductive and seems to stem from a biased viewpoint rather than a factual analysis of the company's situation and achievements.

I urge you to address this issue and ensure that future communications from him about Harland and Wolff, or any other local enterprise, are fair and reflective of the true state of affairs. Our community needs encouragement and support from our leaders, not disparagement based on partial or misleading information.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and hope for a more balanced and supportive approach from our elected representatives in the future.

“The employer says their application for a UKEF Export Development Guarantee has not been rejected and the process is ongoing.

“Instead of inter-departmental warfare in the Tory government spilling out and scaring workers, we need unequivocal joined-up support for our shipbuilding industry.

“All the promise of UK workshare on the FSS order must be maintained in full and ideally increased.

“We will not stand by and accept any move to send further work out of the UK on this order."

8 months since last actual news......................which stated :

'In summary, Synairgen is continuing to work at pace, partnering with high quality researchers and collaborators, to ensure it has the right trial designs, equipped with the right diagnostic tools, to be able to identify trial participants potentially most likely to benefit from a broad-spectrum antiviral and SNG001. This work (including biomarker assessments), together with the substantial body of evidence gathered from clinical trials with SNG001 to date, will inform a robust clinical development programme for SNG001. It is the Company's goal to commence trials as soon as possible, subject to approval timelines, and within H1 2024.' and

'The Company's cash resources are sufficient to cover its plans to design and establish data from an observational study and two investigator-led/Synairgen-sponsored Phase 2 clinical trials, including manufacture of active and placebo for use in these trials.
