Well of course sleepydisaster, because it is common knowledge in finance that anticipated news are always reflected in the current share price. We never got any random "good news" to see the share price increasing. The real question is whether a potential buyout is also reflected in the share price or not.

Malcolm, except Laverda conveniently forgot to mention major problems of the company, such as that according to the RNS of 5th Nov 2024, Kodal is legally liable for the US$ 15 Million tax payment if Hainan decides to exercise their legal right. An example, among many more, that malicious people in this forum spreading lies in hope to inflate the share price always forget to clarify.

Please do not use the news about the transfer pricing and the export block of lithium to panic sell today. Do not turn this into a day of who is going to sell faster to avoid a share price crash. Instead try to buy some shares as someone needs to absorb both the bad news and the 2.5x accelerated sell off from Suay Chin, so that we retain the current share price. You will eventually get your investment back, it doesn't matter if it will be 5, 10, 20 years ,or if you have to start a second job. If you are a long-term holder, you stick with the stock.

The export permit will not be issued until 1st Jan. 2026 as it is of no benefit to the Mali Government to issue a permit without a floor price. And I disagree with Rotter's assessment. Bernard claimed the export permit was to be granted last spring. Did he appear as a fool back then too or not? The real questions are 1) Why is Suay Chin selling 2.5x faster, 2) Will the export permit be granted 1st Jan 2026 or later, 3) Why did Steve offload shares at a price of 0.24 and what information are we missing? 4) Will the lithium price keep dropping at a same rate? 5) Is the mine safe from terrorists or will there be a second attack to attempt a takeover? 6) How long will the export lithium block last? 7) When will Bernard visit Bougouni again? Is there a reason he avoids a visit? 8) Given recent attempts of a coup since last May, will Mali be politically stable until the issue of permit? 9) Is Bfdinvestor and Laverda the same person?

The Malian Government also has a proven history of safeguarding its tax revenue by arresting CEO's of multiple companies. When was the last time Bernard was in Mali? And why was he absent at the ministerial visit?

I see people have provided information about the CEO's salary. Is there information about Steve's salary? We would then be able to infer why he offloaded shares a few months ago at a share price of 0.24, valuing the company at what he considered to be the true share value.

So, what I gather from the information posted today is that the May Reuters article about Kodal was actually correct, lithium exports are truly suspended. We really have to thank GeorgeH, though if one had the information 15 minutes earlier one would be able to trade. Tomorrow is going to be an interesting morning!

I doubt you will be hearing from me often anymore, as I sold my shares today. I only made this account to ask about the accelerated sell off of Suay Chin when it happened, and I lingered a bit. I have better things to do now as you might guess.

I wish you all luck, you will need it with this stock. Also, it is hysterically funny you think I am chef, our method of communicating is so very different. However, I do agree with Chef on some things, such as the last mention of KOD as a small "fry". In a possible legal battle between Hainan and Kodal, KOD would be instantly crashed. Did someone here say ealier that Bernard was not present when Minister of Mines visited? Have we confirmed this to be true?

A concern that I have is that Hainan never really mentions Kodal as a partner in any of the news that they might release about Bougouni on their website (it might have happened one time). It indicates that they might want to take full control of the mine (hopefully peacefully by an offer). However, it is always a concern in my mind that the RNS they issued mentioning that they could exercise a legal right to have KOD pay for the US $15 Million tax was made as a leverage to eventually negotiate brutally with Kodal.

Humster, let us also hope that there won't be another terrorist attack to take over the mine, that Suay Chin stopped selling at a 2.5x rate (or even faster), and that Steve didn't really value the stock below 0.24 during that sale of shares. I sincerely hope for all of this. Since we were discussing Wagner yesterday, there's an interesting Reuters article titled "Report spotlights tensions in Mali military over Wagner mercenaries" which can give some insights on their role, and tensions caused by them.

Anyone who buys these days only helps Suay Chin to make a profit. They are selling, until 19th August, at a proven 2.5x accelerated rate.

Roger, I am not able to comment on which "ruling power" is best for Mali, as I haven't really researched the topic. The only thing that I can guarantee is that US and Chinese interests are not aligned at all. There would be a major political conflict between US and Chinese interests in that setting, and Kod is "supported" by a Chinese company.

My only comment to bfd, is to understand that asking other people to report someone so their comments disappear or to ban them, can be considered a form of market abuse, where you aim to make opposing opinions disappear. I say this on a very friendly tone, as something to reflect upon when one finds the time to do so. I do not mind being reported by bfd at all. And I will not reciprocate.

I agree with Tomaa about the click bait nature of the Trump-Mali post so will not be commenting on it anymore. Will be checking regularly the next days the news for political unrest in Mali. If the attack was intentional to take control of the mine, it will surely happen again. We only need to wait for RNS now, to also see if Suay Chin in still selling at the increased 2.5x rate.

It doesn't matter if other people bought Steve's shares because he got what he considered his money's worth to be. He wanted to make a profit at 0.24, because he considered that to be the true value of the stock, and he did. He was afraid that if he waited the share price would drop below the true value 0.24, and he would be at a loss. Also doubt he cared about the effect on the stock, given his next employment at Castle Minerals.
