Beginning to find this Swedish electoral system very interesting, its more sophisticated than ours, with an element of proportional representation. The Christian Democrats have come from 4.6% last time to 5.5 now and its got me wondering how they would fit with the Social Democrats...they probably steer clear of anything reddish, which is odd I've always thought because Jesus was a communist, wasn't he? Well it's bound to be slow isn't it passing time before the election. Don't remember the bit of discussion yesterday that made you cringe about Sweden being one of the best places in the world to do mining....how would we know, we haven't had the chance to do any. But they do have a high level of expertise, world class in fact and the Boss likes it there because he's said so and he should know. The bit I liked best was the bit about the drill bit...oh the nostalgia of it in the long, long ago time. Profit, you can be in charge of doing the election commentary. :-)

Got a bit carried away there....when I said no sign. We have seen two very positive signs of our licence being awarded in that the Mining Inspectorate have recommended it twice, which is pretty unusual in itself, because once should have been enough.

The Sweden Democrats are currently polling 19.5% and The Social Democrates 24.8%.

Pocko...Don't forget the Moderate Party has also fallen in the polls (currently 17.5%) and the Social Democrats might also have the Left, which is doing well, currently on 9.8%. An alliance for the opposition Alliance will also need the smaller parties to stay in with 4% minimum. How exciting is this! :-)

I hope and trust that what you say is true, but my observations to date lead me to believe that the MP have had a lot more power than their junior position would warrant, in Norbotten at least. About the BEM appeal regarding the licence withdrawal of Kallak No 2 and Parkjjaure No 2...no, heard nothing. The rules say that a licence will not be extended if the company cannot show that exploration has progressed; presumtably to prevent companies taking licences just to stockpile them. Our situation is extraordinary, I think , in that we have expended 70 milllion Kr in proving up a deposit at Kallak North and so far after 5 years of our application being processed we have seen no sign of our licence being awarded due to delaying tactics and other dirty tricks you'd expect from a banana republic not a law abiding country.

We're waiting for the dust to settle after the election, which is on Sunday but I suppose you know that already. Could be Sweden will have a new government constellation but I hope not....I want the current PM to get back with a better majority, ie without the Green Party, but it's looking too close to call at the moment. Actually this application should pass the scrutiny of any government without the Greens, but even the Greens are subject to the Mining Law....at the moment anyway.

I can only see that happening if the decision was made ages ago and the paper work is already in the pipeline...if there is such a thing.

Yes, you made a mistake about the details, and I don't intend to bore people by repeating them but the NK decision by the Supreme Court had profoundly bad consequences, unjustly so, for our application and the decision to revoke their licence remains. The appeal was a minor issue, we have a similar issue which is the subject of an appeal and I don't know how it has turned out. And unlike frosty face I am a zealot for this share, I have recently bought more and I have no agenda other than presenting the facts, as well as the hopes and wishes.
