Yes, the big event...UNESCO, should be about to be revealed, three good months for five experts to examine it should do...leaving plenty time for Christmas Holidays, Wassailing, etc. Seriously though, there's no harm in wassailing, I do it myself but I haven't got round to it yet, maybe tomorrow.

In 2019, ores, metals and minerals were exported to a value of 120 billion, 8 percent of Sweden's merchandise exports. In addition, modern mining technology was exported for more than SEK 150 billion from companies with strong roots in Sweden. Great values ??are at stake, but the Löfven government seems unable to set out a policy that does not threaten our industry.

If jobs and prosperity are to be secured, it is time for a new government and a new mining and minerals policy.

DEBATE. In Sweden, we have a long tradition of mining and refining metals and minerals. Our mining industry has been one of the cornerstones that has supported the Swedish manufacturing and export industry. The value chains that are created cannot be overestimated and the jobs and income they provide are a prerequisite for the prosperity we take for granted.

A prerequisite for the mining industry to be able to continue to develop in a way that is favorable for Sweden is that there is a willingness to invest. Therefore, it is worrying that Sweden loses big in the Fraser Institute's well-respected ranking of mining nations' attractiveness to make investments in. From place 8 in 2016 to place 36 in 2020. From being one of the world's top ten nations in the field, we now occupy a mediocre location and compared to countries such as Mali and Ghana.

The new location will have negative consequences. The capital-intensive mining and minerals industry is dependent on long-term investment horizons. The fact that Sweden as a nation is considered attractive for mining investments is of great importance and global rankings are reflected in the willingness to invest. In Sweden's case, investors express concern about how the legislation is designed and that it is applied inconsistently. Whimsy, changes in practice and inability to make decisions characterize the permit processes that regulate the industry. We have seen it in Kallak and Laver and not least in the deposit at Norra marsh near Lake Vättern. Misbehaviors that both we Sweden Democrats and the Riksdag's constitutional committee have criticized the government for.

The situation is worrying. The Social Democrats' cooperation with the strongly industrial-hostile Green Party seems to lead to monumental internal deadlocks within the government. It is a disaster for a country with the ambition to have a world-leading mining sector. Sweden has the prerequisite to be able to play a key role in the EU's ambitions to increase the important degree of self-sufficiency in raw materials with the right policy. Something that is important not only for our domestic industry but also from a geopolitical, ethical and environmental perspective.

The mining industry is a future industry. Existing mining companies are ready to invest with billions in investments that can strengthen Sweden's position as an export nation. Sweden's rich bedrock provides unique opportunities to sustainably extract the metals that are in demand both globally and nationally. Our mining technology companies are also world leaders, but are affected when the mining industry as a whole is opposed by a government that is on its hands while our reputation in international comparison is being destroyed.

But I think the Government have implied on many occasions that a decision was not far off...forthcoming surely is at least in the process of and it certainly was not...so they deceived us no doubt about it.

TSP....You read it wrong, out of the way means the Company's input... we all agree on that. How could it have meant anything else?

I agree with Eric that we were not led to expect an imminent decision on Kallak, in fact I felt it was the opposite, Kurt wanted the money to secure the business and press on with other stuff. TSP...I don't think the Government are afraid of upsetting UNESCO, why should they be, the Laponia is absolutely massive and UNESCO are guests, they don't get to run the country.
