Spod, quite right. But I was able to buy them immediately (and could have them sold the lot as well but didn’t!) showing good liquidity and availability to trade. However the spread at the time was .1, so around 6%

I bought 350,000 shares just over an hour ago, no problem buying that amount but never showed on Google finance or LSE.

I have tried contacting Polo, last time got no reply, expect the same again! God I hope that we get some value and they haven’t done the dirty! Still showing in my Portfolio with Lloyds Stockbrokers, which should mean company not gone to the wall. We have a 20% plus holding in GCM I believe plus other investments

I was at last years AGM and they seemed a smug lot. Given the recent bid which could have been over £8 per share they have a lot of questions to answer. Today’s update says it is unlikely we will reach that type of valuation anytime soon if ever. My view is they protected their jobs and salaries at the expense of their shareholders. They didn’t even put the bid to us. Shameful

I have sent an email to the company voicing my displeasure. At £8.10 they didn’t allow due diligence and further discussions, absolute dereliction of duty in my view

So 5pm today is the deadline for an offer to be made or they walk away. SP saying nothing doing which is a disappointment and I will be attending the next AGM to find out how they are getting the SP above £7.75 in the short term. Personally I do not believe the board have the interests of shareholders foremost in their thinking

Fran, totally agree. I went to last years AGM and the board did not appear to be shareholder focussed to me. I think any promise of jam tomorrow in a cyclical company like ours is dangerous, when so many “unexpected”things have affected us in the past. The offer of £7.70 is well above where I believe the SP would be during the next two years so I would definitely prefer my jam today. The SP is currently 15% below the offer and f they pull out it will almost certainly be a lot lower. Just my take

Great price £7.75 given last 40 years SP performance. Board should get negotiating and agree an offer, not try to protect their salaries and jobs

This is excellent news, L&G buying up another 2% of the company is great news. They would not invest more if they felt in any way this was the basket case the market seems to be valuing it as. The 5% SP improvement agrees with the positive take most of us have!!

And the fall this morning looks overdone on the volume, no real selling pressure I can see

Lazarus, at least I finally had enough of CINE at double what it is now and tried to explain my rationale, albeit many months too late unfortunately for me! But that is investing.

Hi Uta. A rights issue is when you call on existing shareholders to fork out more cash. A placing is when you tap up some wealthy investors. Both are more dilution
