I may be wrong but I suspect we will do well here even in the short time. There is too much going on in the world not to carry a little bit of safety in here. I feel today the prices for the precious metals ar/were subdued as a lot of traders have decided to take on more risk and go for the like of the airlines and hoteliers. Rather them than me. I do not feel the world economy is out of the woods yet. The last management report we got from Hoc was based at the time of the Gold price alone being in the 1600 oz region - it is now over 1900 oz. Brexit looks like it is failing (I made a fortune last time with HOC) when this happened before and I cannot see the USA economy not needing stimuli to try and catch up with China that is expanding now at a very fast rate. The move into gold and rare earths is the icing on the cake for me. Good luck for tomorrow I am sure we will get something positive this time.

Hi Sotolo - I am not sure about wednesday but it does seem HOC as Janeb said earlier is getting rave reviews and upgrades and quite often these institutions do get wind of something good in advance. I will certainly be staying put here and expect good results based on the price of Silver and Gold rising over the past four months quite considerably. So on that basis even if production is down the results are not going to be that bad for either I am sure and fingers crossed.

Please ignore FD post not Marstons related at all. I have "the right to remain silent" as I am not a current shareholder. I will come back to report my own intelligence when I am. If in any doubt of my posts please see my evidence submitted before I went "under cover."

HI Pitterpatter --hope you are keeping well.
I have seen so many negative comments from the likes of Barchild and Fairtrader etc, and suspect they comment without holding any shares and so felt everytime I wrote something they opposed it (despite my last post being very accurate). I felt rather than let them fight against my share ownership I would let them work for me. So at the moment the more they write the better for me.
I will come in here later that is for sure but timing is important for me as well as for Marstons. I hope you will understand what I am trying to say. Good luck you deserve it.

Was that for the Movie with Zeta Jones? Interesting -did you know even Lloyds sold off that building to the Chinese -they is talk they might even move to another in London as well as having one in the EU-Post Brexit.
Yes like you I have learned to spread my risks and take profits when I can to offset any losses and generally most shares comes back and are cyclical. I have listened and show more of an interest now in production costs as you are right and that is something I had not really thought about so much but from your previous posts realized you may have had a reason to have mentioned them. It is funny isn't it that when the USD rises sales figures converted back in GBP and better but if the local currency has risen against GBP then costs increase eroding profits. There is more than one aspect to all of this isn't there. I do have a feeling someone will be stalking CEY soon, and unless they can get a wider exposure they will always be limited on growth. Something that FRES and more importantly HOC are addressing. I suppose CEY is still a small company but FRES and HOC are more industrial behemoths which gives a balance.

I will be honest I sold off my holdings last week after the share price rose over 24% in two days.
Until the share prices comes back down to the 30's I do not feel I should comment in that I currently do not have any vested interest.
I am also waiting to see if the Uk sign a trade deal with the EU which may affect the JV. Something that perhaps may have an effect if not from Marstons point - perhaps from Carlsberg. Sorry I cannot comment further.

Hi Sotolo -interesting connections and I see your family bias (so HOC) to be fair I just do not know who is preferable but I feel HOC has more options and is expanding its interests (which CEY is not really doing) but there again I said previously to myself that both CEY and HOC were for me worth more than what others were saying about FRES and then was proved wrong. Always best to spread the risk (that's the Lloyd's of London in me talking) so I try an hold all three. Good luck.

No fear -why not write in to the CPI press office and say that you are a concerned shareholder for the reasons stated. Perhaps they can show off to the LSE the contract wins? You will find they will be far quicker to address the issue or help than the FCA. Perhaps FCA will be able to come back to you in 6 months time?? The CPI press office might be quicker - only a thought? They will also have a very large number of contracts and would not be expected to advise of every win as they could be accused of trying to manipulate the markets? Only a thought - good luck.

Schroders are no fools they are accumulating a fairly large investment here by quietly and efficiently buying more and more when it is the right time to do so building up their stake. If they felt the Company was to fail they would short it out - however they are acting the way they are not to alert the shorters who they know will eventually have to buy back in if/when they launch a bid and then the price we know will rise at least by the 3.68% the shorters hold plus if the shorters turn long they will buy far more than their shorts and the price of this share will rocket. We just do not know when. IMHO. I have a reasonable sum here which I have been building too and I am not going anywhere. I also see some new contracts coming here very soon. Fingers crossed.

Hi Sotolo - I think as (I believe they are now back up and running) and after they carried out their future planned maintenance work earlier and quicker that originally projected (during their lockdown) we might actually get a pleasant surprise. Certainly I have seen some very generous broker upgrades on this stock -perhaps someone has seen some figures in advance or their analysts see upside. I have found actually that with Hochschild one never really knows, when one expects production to be less they then come out full of surprises. I have been dealing with Hoc for a long time and they do know what they are doing - very experienced. I remember the M&G and Prudential had this down as one of their prime stocks 7 years ago and I can see them increasing their stake again soon the way the world is going. GLA.

Olwsey I did the same and was even able to use my current account which was offsetting in those days against the mortgage. I then sold the house and moved out to a quieter area and paid the mortgage off when it suited me. I actually found the quality of life was actually improved and so was my health. I now actually enjoy this share dealing business as a hobby and easily finish up and take home overall more than when I worked for others. Their loss. Good luck with your dealings but at least like me over the years I know you have done well with the precious metals miners. Fres, Hoc and Cey all doing well for me, shame we lost Acacia though. Fres is up tonight on both our side and the other side of the pond tonight!

Might be the reason we were up nicely but pegged back a bit this afternoon due to sterling increase. Although this could have a positive effect on local costs if converted back into sterling. Perhaps income from USD less but mining costs in local currency reduced. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.

Centamin opened up 3.25% on Canadian Market - interesting? I bet the two larger sales shown after close wish they were still in now?

Jane -totally agree Mr Hochschild and team are not stupid they are expanding rapidly into Gold and rare earths. The fundamentals will also improve with the mines being back on with some major maintenance work already carried out during lockdown and the Silver price (their main income) has been growing recently quite significantly. Silver also responds to uncertainty as well as industrial growth and that is precisely what China has been reporting. They will come back strong I am sure but for the time being until we get a decent set of numbers to work from we just track the Silver price higher.

Owlsie I am sure you are ok it is amazing what one can do if one puts their mind to it. I seemed to remember even taking out a big car loan at 3.66% fixed as I felt and it is true on certain days that could be made in one day. However it certainly gave me a little bit of a break for few months. I also found doing up houses far more beneficial than commuting up to London and I enjoy DIY and it keeps me fit. There is certainly more to life than just one option. Good luck whatever you do.

In the meantime I see Gold and Silver on the upwards March again which is good for us here.

Interestingly in line with what the Marstons press office told me a few weeks ago, Morning star have the final results being published on 25th November and they are as we know the adviser/notifier for the LSE. So perhaps Proactive investors have wind of an earlier update but I cannot see it officially published anywhere? Good luck to those braver than me!

I can see off sells being very good but pub sales must be down on last year, but lets face it better than when the last results were published earlier in the year during the pandemic. I regret that we could still have a full lock down with the numbers growing and I feel I will wait for further news. I was told a couple of weeks ago the full results would be published on 10th December so I will get up early tomorrow to see whats happening being safe.

If pub sales are down on last year (almost likely) but have helped since March (as we are now open) BUT supermarket sales and off license sales are substantially increased (more likely) what happens to the share price?
Just wondering as most dealers like me will already have cashed in but are wondering whether to come back in for a punt?
My risk is do I invest now on a 6% fall and take a chance for tomorrow, or wait for the results bearing in mind that if the results are good for off pubs sales then this thing will rise? Interesting conundrum. Either way this is a very good longer term investment but without a vaccine could take 6 months to a year to start making real progress. Discussion invited.

JMAX - I have actually benefited from some of those higher interest offset accounts in the past to be honest. You can only deal with your own situation at the moment in time. I cannot see interest rate rises by a significant amount for a long time yet as any growth in the economy will simply be stamped out if they were raised by large amounts. Houses prices are rising however due to limited supply and excess demand and are always one of the best longer term buys. Health is always the most important thing and money is not everything however I do enjoy my share dealing and spread my investments across the market usually, but at the moment in the time of volatility do come back to the precious metals miners for some safety.
